Snow snow snow and off to Idaho for turkey day weekend I go, then the following weekend off to Wyoming, and then I think I get the blessing to warm up the pipes on the sleds.

Hey John, Randi sent me a message on facebook tonight. I haven't talked to her in about 8 years. COOL!!!!

I chose not to know anything about facebook but thats cool. That's my wifes version of snowest. lol

We have John's little guy Brayden (turned 3 last month) with us now, taking a trip down to see Randi and the kids this weekend, and then the following we'll be taking Brayden back home. The kids seem to keep us busy being 8 - 10 hours away on good roads.

All this Dang Snow and I don't have a steering post! Hopefully it will be in today so I can hit it this weekend! I so Jealous Guys........

I wish I could....oh wait. Maybe I can.

I'll be available after 8:00....POSSIBLY. If we don't hit the road to kill elk.

If the early snow is any indication at all it's going to be a great year for both sledding and avies. A toast to all for a safe winter. Cheers :beer;

Just a thought ..... is there any interest in putting an emergency contact list together on a spread sheet for in the event anyone of us needs help in the back country?

Not in any way would it be ment to replace emergency services but another tool to help others in need as we know the terrain we ride in better then the 1st responders and could either help or assist in the aid of a fellow sledder in need. I know we all have a network of friends that we ride with but I would be willing to help out in anyway that I could if someone were in the need.

Thinking if so we could send it out via email with the obvious contact information.

Not a bad idea as I just heard that the S&R stuff is up in Seeley now. The first responder is supposedly a deputy in a car for Missoula Co. now a days for Lolo as far as I was told.:face-icon-small-con
On a side note, the trails were good up lolo to break a belt in and get some break in time on a Pro.:face-icon-small-hap

Yeah count me in,good idea :face-icon-small-coo Bought myself a abs pack yesterday. Special thanks to AL's cycle for honoring there 20% off all in stock items black friday sale on the pack even tho it was not intended to be part of the blowout sale.. Just Great folks down there !!!!!

So was this said breaking in a belt on trails your own trails or not enough snow yet?

2xm3, I was leaning towards a pack this year also. I'll give Al's a shout this week sometime.

As for a contact list I'll start an initial list and we can add as we go.
If you want on the list shoot me an email : jjllcowan@msn.com

Trails were fluffy soft, off trails were bumpy hard. Stuck to the trails for the "most" part.
Contact info should include area knowledge. Gotta add a suggestion of the Spot device. Very useful and not that expensive. Westmont can attest to its use as he came within a couple hundred feet of me when I was in a little trouble up Lolo last year. He received my 'HELP' text at home in Florence and proceeded to come right to me off the beaten path. Worth every penny that day after I took a boneheaded turn down into a boneheaded drainage with no way out the bottom and completely spent all my energy trying to get back up.

Im in westmont ,this is a good idea!

I don't have a Spot but will check into getting one. They do work.

Although the night started out not so good a lot of things went right that made a difference like mod03's location via the coordinance given by his Spot that abled us to find him well after dark using my gps to locate him.

sledfvr, Thanks.

2xm3 and relentless rider, shoot me an email when you get a minute and we'll get you on the list.

I think you got all my info, but I'm pretty much worthless....

You're not getting off the hook that easy just because you haven't found yourself a new ride yet unless you forgot how to get into my garage and run the overhead hoist to load up a sled up. :face-icon-small-hap

I truely believe it's experenced riders like yourself that can and would make the difference.
