Was blowing and snowing hard when we left the bowls yesterday, played around in the trees below a bit but you couldn't see well enough for me to want to venture in, basically you wouldn't know if an avy was coming down the mountain until it was on top of you The way the tempuratures were and the snow conditions I'm sure it will slide any time now if it already hasn't. Sleet on the way up and back down, when we left Lincoln at 3, it was 44 and raining. Anybody going up that way BE VERY CAREFUL!

I talked to a rider at the parking lot that said one of the bowls had slid.

We busted trail into Alice creek Saturday, 2 feet of heavy stuff. Good snow. Lots of fun.

What about the bowl ontop of huckelberry? Has it slid at all?

yeah I guess it was a bad report, no such thing of the sort.

still a ton of snow there!

We will be at our friends cabin in Lincoln this weekend. Anyone riding up there. All the Motels are full already.

I don't think the FS shuts anything down due to avy conditions.

Think he be right.... the feds in general tends to be reactive instead of proactive. They only shut things down if something bad has already happened.... like avy taking out a highway or road or an avy where people are involved and not everyone was found, that sort of stuff.

Rooms around lincoln

We will be at our friends cabin in Lincoln this weekend. Anyone riding up there. All the Motels are full already.

The B&B in ovando still has rooms, its at the end of trail 2 and about 30 miles by trail from lincoln. We'll be there this weekend.

I just read through my current Ponderosa Snow Warriors newsletter and noticed that they are running out of funds to plow the Copper Creek parkng area. I just thought that it would be a shame if they had to stop plowing and everyone had to ride from town.

Snotell pic

couple pictures for ya. before the fire, the snotell was great..
Now there is a 'drift' under the measurement point.. :(

Heading there this weekend and will have an update soon. From the sounds of many who live there. It's soft wet snow and freezes solid at night. Supposed to have a few storms roll through this weekend so we'll see what happens.

me and two other guys one with a loud tripple with a mesh hood and one with a turbo RX1 and a loud orange REV were up copper creek saturday and the snow was like concrete everywhere and blue skys until around 11 and then the clouds came in and covered the bowls :(. watched some sweet chutes get pulled (one big on when you get to the end of the road at the bridge on the ridge to the right) and had some fun. it ended up warming up quite a bit and softened the snow up quite a bit. hope they get some new snow this week.
