I was in Huckelberry Saturday. Snow was good, but not enough. Lots of stumps and deadfall. It was snowing when I left, so maybe this last snowstorm will help.

Snow is here and so is the cold.

Any more updates?

Planning on heading there this weekend possibly the bowls or the "North 40". Has anyone ridden there lately

6 ft of powder!!!

40 sleds tried to make a trail into the bowls sat, got about half way and the day was done, i don't know id they got in sun, there was an m 1000 in the bowls that i guy wanted to get out, ign quit, he figured it was under 4 ft of snow and it was left there last sun. they tried twice this week to get in and couldn't, awesome snow!!!

We finally pounded our way it into the bowls on Sunday by about noon or a little after. The snow was incredible to say the least. About eight or ten of us made is in there. They found the other sled just a bump in the snow we had a good track for them to get down but dont know if the were able to get it to the point were they could get it back down or not.
Oh ya I was snowing fairly hard on our way out. About a day of pounding to get to the lake Im guessing.
Good riding.

Heard the snow was great, once you get up higher, not much down low. Why do we have to strech the truth about how much snow, 6 feet of fresh powder, come on. Some of us appreciate acurate reports. Talked to some locals and checked the snotel, found out really only about 18 to 24 inches of new snow. Thats a far cry from the 72 inches reported here. Not trying to complain, love reports on snow conditions, just wish people would be a little more truthful.

your right, as i said 6 ft of powder, didn't say it was all fresh, when you got stuck and stepped off it was arm pit deep and really no base under that, you had to work at it to even walk around to pull the sled around, thats what is making it hard to get around is that none of this new snow has really settled. just my .02 come on up and give it a whirl and see what you think, its epic for sure:beer;

Might just have to make a run over there, better bring a shovel it sounds like.

Snowing again

Just saw 132" at the mine, that's twelve inches yesterday, looks like the campground got about 8". The storm is suppose to drop another foot by Saturday afternoon.... looks like I'll be hitting the bowls on Sunday, or at least trying to get there....

FS shut down the bowls

as of today if ya haven't heard, the FS shut down the Bowls along with the road in due to Avalanches.

heard the pass was chains only too...sounds like they are getting POUNDED! wish i could be out riding!
