Legend Oil issues in 800 H.O. motor?

I'll never understand why people are so passionate about oil brands. It seems so much easier just to run what the manufacturers recommend for the particular engine and go ride.

Oil threads are rad.

Sorry. You're right. I should have not asked the question.

I can't understand why people are so passionate about posting when it adds nothing to the discussion.

Well of course the manufacturer recommends the use of their oil. They profit from it. Once the oil in tank is used up for break in I will be using ams oil interceptor. Main reason is I get a good price on it from a supplier that I drive by several times a week while working. Beats the 20 mile drive to dealer to buy oil. Could actually care less about cost as company pays for it. Not saying ams oil is any better or worse than anything else, but I have had great results with it. Had 2500 miles on my last sled with barely any noticeable wear on pistons and rings. That said I do not believe the wear and build up on pistons in above post are all related if at all to oil.

The oil that smells like old ladies perfume. Boy I have got some teasing about that.

After 3-4 rides last year my power valves looked the same or worse than the pics. There is no way a motor like that doesn't hurt performance. I am switching this year from Legend back to VES.

Sorry to you guys that call BS. It was my experience.
