it's no surprise you have a knee brace on - you're holding a kneeboard! love lake powell. just picked up an extra ballast and spent my afternoon waxing the boat and summerizing. it's the only good news to the end of snowmobile season. just another way to pile on the injuries, eh?:D

I don't play on Knee Boards any more. Only have it for the kids to play on. My daughter used it in that Pic to swim on. Had a Subdural Hematoma 8 years ago. Worst summer of my life. So now I only Wake Board and dislocate body parts. LOL

Now I just have to put up with my son squirting me. LMAO

I'm thinking she's happier behind the steering wheel than behind your boat. LOL

My last knee surgery was last Nov.

Here's my driver. No wonder I get hurt so much. Squirt guns and under age drivers.

LP

Wow! It feels pretty good to have people to relate to. I've had one surgery per knee and number three is coming up soon. Not feeling so great but I think I'm like you guys and don't let it stop me. All this LP talk makes me want to go! We'll be there middle of June. Where else do you guys like to go? Favorite place number 2 is FG.

LP and FG are the places we go.
I can't stand the rough crowded lakes around here.:o
Usually hit LP at least 3-4 times and squeeze in some FG weekends.

if you can avoid the floating dead cows:eek: utah lake has been good to us. i head down there in the evening and have almost always had good water close to the shore. those reeds soak up the wake pretty good. need to have an inboard so you're not always kicking up the bottom. hardly ever overcrowded because people are afraid of growing a third nipple. :D

LMAO, Those cows are good for some extra POP. If you can time a Double up with a cow it's MONSTER AIR.
I was wondering where all my nipples keep coming from.:face-icon-small-dis

Actually we have discovered that to be a great place early in the year. We can be on the water in 20 min. from home. The hardest thing for me to overcome was watching the depth finder just sit there on 8 ft.

UL

LOL! I want a third nipple! and I think I hit one of those Dead cows last year. I'm a huge UL fan. I had never been there until I got my inboard and decided to give it a try. We're there about once a week. The lake is HUGE so there always a place you can go to get good water. Water temp is always nice, easier on the equipment (truck) no big canyons to climb to get there, gas mileage. I saw on the news last night that they are getting rid of carp at the lake - that's a good thing.

Ahhhhh the memories! Lake Powell is my favorite place in the world. We spent many trips down there every year growing up. I still manage to slip in a few days here and there. I would rather disappear for a week into no mans land with plenty of fuel and food (a nice houseboat doesn't hurt either) than just about anywhere else.

BUT.......Utah Lake is the bomb when it comes to getting in an afternoon. My cousin and I used to go 4-5 nights a week back in the mid to late 90's. (dang jobs killed that fun) I could tell some funny stories about low water depths, etc...... We taught ourselves to barefoot there, and also joined the Utah Waterski Club. I just let my membership expire two years ago. There are still 3 Centurions in my family, just not enough time!!! I have come off that lake when no boat should have been out there. We were "footing "glass all afternoon long, when we went to leave and hit the main body it was NASTY......Being in a Ski boat when every wave is coming over the bow (with enough water to wash you off the "dog box") is not a fun experience. I still thank the big guy above that we weren't in an open bow.

As far as it being "dirty" goes.......I know way back when there was a report that came out and Utah Lake was far from the top of the list. With the average depth only being 9', and the big winds that get ripping acrossed it, there isn't a chance for the sediment to settle. The bacteria isn't as bad (or at least it wasn't) as one would think by looking at it.

Happy Boating girls and boys,

Dub
