Klim Warranty= FAIL

This thread was removed from the forums because it contained posts that were little more than manufacture bashing. That offending content has been removed, and the thread is now being returned.

Please understand, SnoWest will not tolerate the bashing of members or manufacturers.

If you want Klim, or any other corporation out there to listen to your comments, concerns or complaints, KEEP IT CIVIL, Polite and Professional.

Many of the manufacturers have made a conscious choice NOT to participate in any of the online forums because history has shown that most of these threads rapidly descend into little more than a bash fest of name calling. That does not mean or even suggest that they are not reading every single one of these posts or are unaware of all the comments being made here on SnoWest.

If we want to engage them and encourage them to come here and participate openly and directly we must create an atmosphere that is conducive. To that end Moderators have been instructed to pull threads off the forum that are headed down a path that will do none of us any good.
This is rediculous!

If im going to pay 70 dollars for a pair a gloves I want to know if they are a POS or not. And if I ask KLIM that question they are going to tell me God himself assembled the gloves together and they will last me for 6 lifetimes.

Thats why people visit these forums, to see what work and what doesn't and what to spend our hard earned money on. I dont give a damn if it hurts Klim or any other manufacturers feelings that there is a thread bashing their product. If they are gonna charge me 70 bucks they better make their product worth it. This over zealous censoring BS is ruining what these forums are here for.

Funny, I tried to leave things alone & give the new way a chance for a while.

That way of thinking obviously will be proven wrong again & again.

This kind of crap is exactly why many of us are disgusted with this site.

btw, when curse words are edited on this site, why the F do people get infractions for swearing?? That is downright retarded.

If opinions = infractions

then snowest = fail

Pander to whomever you think you should but you've got it wrong.

if you want members to stay on this forum and post...and pay you (snowest) you need to cater to us..the paying customer..especially since supposedly advertisers dont pay much of anything around here...I have no problem with moderating foul language but to delete threads simply because a user has an honest complaint about a defective product is a sure fired way to seal the fate of this site(dont beleive me?..go check your roll call for post #'s..sure isnt much for new tech on here..yet visit other sites..tons of new tech threads..this site is headed in exactly the wrong direction...its sad and I sure want to see this site remain around and return to its former great self(even if it means pay)..gotta go post some new tech threads now.....but not here.......let me ask this..if peeps came on here making threads complaining about another snow site..would you delete the post and issue infractions to the posters?....good luck ...:beer;

Well said AKSNOWRIDER as usual. I know for a fact that I would never buy Klim gloves as they won't last a couple weeks as I'd make damn sure I use gloves on a daily basis out here. I am however very, very satisfied with my eVent gloves from my Polaris dealership, yes, expensive as Klim but they flat out work and last the season. Lost my first pair I had, GF is still wearing her's. Getting a pair of insulated Gore-Tex ones from Cabela's as I know they will last and they guarantee it, and stand behind them.

Klim warranty

I just got off the phone yesterday with a Klim warranty rep.
I had sent in a pair of bibs to be repaired and one of the zippers had failed.
I was expecting to pay for the repairs as they had a couple of rips. but get the zipper replaced for free.

If I counted between my wife and I we have 20 pieces of Klim gear.
I have never sent anything in I just bought another pair of gloves bibs etc.
On these I sent them in because I needed a back up.
According to the person they are outside of their usefull life.
They were 1.5 years old
The lifetime warranty they have built their business is the lifetime of the garment. This allows them wiggle room to deny at will.
According to them my lifetime warranty is shorter because I ride too much.
I now get to pay for them to ship to them to deny and quote a ridiculous price to repair that they wont do and probably pay to have them shipped back.
This is not bashing just what happened.

I have never had anything but great service with Klim on warranty for my boots and pants. I couldnt be happier with their customer service. :D

That was me

The last time we had a thread like this a picture got posted of the gloves in question. Once we saw the gloves it was obvious why they denied warranty.

If your going to start a thread like this at least back up your claim with pictures, otherwise this thread is only valuable to fools.

Yeah, that was me. I started the thread and some people agreed and some didn't. Whatever. I really don't care if I am politically correct to help people feel better about their Klim purchase. I also own a pair of their boots, bibs, and jacket. They have worked well, as they should, considering the price tag. I don't think you need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out they have a problem with their gloves and don't feel the need to stand behind them.

I got a great deal on Klim Tog coat and Extreme bibs this summer. So far the only thing I don't like is the zipper doesn't go all the way up the leg. Hope they are OK. Regarding gloves, I have never had any luck wth textile gloves. I have all leather, mink oil them a couple of times a year. I use 2 pairs, one for the morning, one for the afternoon, because they always get wet. It seemed the textile gloves, even the gore-tex ones leaked at least as much, and were destroyed about half way through the season.

Try sno seal....works much better than mink oil IMO.

i have a coat that has a rip in it it sounds like i need to just switch brands because when you spend 2000.00 in gear and they say no on a lifetime warrenty it will be the last time they get my hard earned money i need a new pair of bibs im glad i read this im going to call motorfist.By the way this is NOT RUSSIA stop acting like it

After intensive scrutiny my thread has returned from being reviewed and judged by the chosen few...I feel so fortunate. If only there was a way I could pay people to do that?

Gloves should be back to me any day now. I will post up some pics when I receive them back.

my klim boots are starting to do that as well.......not nearly as bad yet. if you line them up, that area on the left boot lines up perfectly with a skid bolt head.... at least on my xp.

now looking at this, its a tough call...... i am causing the damage to the boot by the way I ride, but these are designed as snowmobiling boots and should be able to handle snowmobiling..... if they have redesigned the boot and got rid of the cordura area, then obviously, they have recognized the flaw and should take care of the boots.... warranties are for just that, flaws in workmanship and design.

from my earlier post, i wasn't saying i didn't believe anyone about the gloves......they probably were new. I personaly, spend no more than 15-20 on gloves and ride the crap out of them and they generally last a season......

Yes the bolts on the M series sleds tear your boots up too. Those bolts wore through my free ride pants AND my boots. I sent both in for warranty. hahaha

I was not at all surprised when my warranty attempt was denied. I know its MY riding style and MY fault that they wore out. It was not a product failure, which is what warranty should cover. You cant catch a tree branch and rip your coat or pants and expect that to be covered under warranty.

As far as gloves go I think hands and hand use and hand placements come in millions of different varieties. Some gloves fit different hands better than others. Some gloves hold up better to different hand placements and uses than others. Case in point: I wear the Klim Inversion glove. I had 2 pairs last year that I put 1800 miles on. Im still using them this year. Sometimes the hand warmers will melt the palm of a glove after just 1 ride...

Dizzle, sorry bout your bad luck with the gloves. Hope ya find something that works!

Yeah its true about gloves wearing differently for different people. I actually have an older pair of Klim gloves that are still going strong.

Klim has made some good riding gear. They charge a premium rate for their products which I did not mind paying partly because of their outstanding warranty history. Unfortunately it has become just that.....history. :(

Looks like that just started to come apart, not fail due to stress. The material isn't even damaged.

BTW, who is you manicurist? Your cuticles are amazing!:D j/k!

And u want us to pay for this! We cant even voice our opinion any more! The day u ask for money is the day i walk away form this fourm! I personaly love my klim gear! But i want to hear about all the problems people have with the product! I was about to ship both my coat and gloves in and now am not going to since i will just get denied! I WILL NEVER BUY KLIM AGAIN! NOT HONNORING YOUR WARRANTY IS BULL!

Now that you can see the pictures, you would have to be an idiot to make this post. It is obvious that Klim DESERVES to be bashed. The material looks new and the stitches failed.

Shame on Klim for denying warranty on an obvious defect!

good job boys

Well said Ski, attention christopher, so now what do you think about that Klim thread that was pulled, come on use your head on this one. So as it was stated earlier this should have been handled in the proper channels and it has been shown that it was, and yet the company still denied his claim. Whats your opinion on these gloves? Warrantiable or not?

SO in the end, this was handled in the proper manner then by putting it on a public forum so that our fellow sledder can all know not to purchase these gloves.

Thanks for listening and understanding.
