Klim Warranty= FAIL

I am wondering if the fact that the dealership that I purchased all the stuff from is now out of business? Sure it helped to grease the rejection wheel.

They do make a good product when it doesn't fail. But for the premium they charge they should stand behind their 'lifetime" warranty.

I have always felt that Klim was waaaay overrated. I personally buy mostly hi end ski gear. Klims technology is always a few years behind the ski gear anyways. Plus I still have some connections in the ski industry and can still get cost on most the gear.

We started out purchasing all Klim products and have been slowly moving over to HMK. They really have nice stuff at a reasonable price. Hubby has Klim boots that are not wearing right. Called Klim and did not get any reasurring answers so never sent them in as it was the beginning of the season and the only boots the hubby had. No guarantees on how long it would take to "assess" the wear pattern LOL. Lots of nice product out there worth taking a look at!

I think if you register you stuff on the Klim site it makes a difference. I sent them some pictures of my boots (leaking) and gloves (one looked new the others palm was worn through) and I got a responce that the boots would be warrantied but the gloves had 15 rides on them and they would look at them buy probably wouldn't warranty them. Once they received the stuff they called me because they couldn't figure out how one was fine but the other was in bad shape. They said they were going to send them to the R and D people to see how they could change the gloves to make them better. I received new boots and gloves. BTW the gloves were Inversions, I don't like big fluffy gloves.

On a side note, I have been told that Outdoor Research gloves have a no question lifetime warranty.

Dont think they are going to cover those pipe burnt gloves:D Youll have to tell them it was a freak granola explosion in the campfire.

Call Donovan. He still has the buyklim.com biz and will most likely be able to hook you up. Give it a shot.

I haven't had any problems but my stuff is a few years old. Before wang chun started making it.

Good idea but I am sure he has alot better things to wrap his mind and time around right now.

Besides I shouldn't need to have someone pull some strings to get a product warrantied

It's his business and now that he has more time I think you will be surprised, it's the only one he has going. He'll help you.

I sent a pair in to be repaired and they ended up sending me a new set, when all I wanted was the old ones repaired. I felt I had a good set of gloves that had an inner seam ripped and now I have a brand new pile of chinese crap. Funny part is if I known they were going to do this I would have kept them and got them fixed locally. The new ones came with a string pulling out of the seam and I emailed a pic to customer service so hopefully when these fail they will still replace them.

Our Klim gear has woked flawlessly for years, whole family, however I wouldn't buy their gloves or boots. There's so many other better boots and gloves out there. Just get a pair of Danner insulated hunting boots, dry, lightweight, and impossible to get cold in. Can't understand why people would take a chance on weird high tech looking boots that could kill you if you got stranded in the woods. I've been hunting, outfitting, guiding for over 40 years in the mountains and boots and gloves are two things I don't compromise.

What a dissapointment to find this thread. Klim's warranty was the reason I bought my Togwotee bibs and gloves. Have had mine for three or four years now, no poblems. Is it just the newer stuff people are having trouble with?

I bought the Powerxross gloves last year, and only spent so much because of the warranty! After about 2 rides a seam came loose. I haven't gotten around to sending them back. Now I'm wondering if they'll even do anything. Very disappointing, I won't be buying any more of their gloves. And I really love my powerxross gloves.

double post?

yes and going to see alot more posts if they keep denying warranty. I am glad he posted it, as much as we get tired of same ole posts about denying warranty the more this forum/internet will have an impact on there business practices. Yes, I like the product...its there warranty thats in question.

i'm on my third set of bibs from them, they have warrantied two pairs already...they warrantied a pair of gloves two years ago for me...

their jackets and bibs are nice. i like the comfort of the boots, but my feet have always been damp at the end of the day, and i don't know if it's from sweat not releasing, because i don't think they leak...

their gloves suck, but hey thats what i have, i do like the all black windproof gloves...they are more of a spring glove...

kind of have to laugh when i read about all these unhappy complaints......i own some klim gear but i'm in no way a klim nazi. with that said, i think a lot of people misunderstand normal wear and tear with product failure and warranty issues. people are foolish if they buy a product and expect it to last forever......lifetime warranty does not mean it will last forever!!!

now, i'm sure with gloves, it is very hard to determine what is normal and what is excessive wear. it seems most of the complaints on here are with gloves and that is one of their products i don't own so i have no experience with them.........i would think they may be actually be bringing their warranty service more inline with what the warranty actually covers. for years, they have warrantied with no questions asked.....and if your losing money, it's hard to make that up in quantity if your a business owner.

He wasn't talking about normal use and a normal time frame. His gloves fell apart after 3-4 rides, which is exactly the same length mine lasted before the stitching started coming out. For $70 they better last a lot longer than that! If they don't want to warranty so many, they should find a way to make them last longer. I really love my powerxross gloves, I just want the stitching to hold together. I in no way abused them, I only wore them a few times. Same with original poster. That is ridiculous.

Yup...........another very unsatisfied customer here. No use having warranty if you dont actually back it up. Dont waste your money on Klim.

Gloves are a tough one. Nobody makes a decent pair but everybody charges an arm and a leg for them.
