Khaos track changes/modifications.

Track selection

If the sled isn't set up properly they will trench as they move a lot of snow. The 2017 and 2018 doo tracks where a little soft for our application. The 2019 is a stiffer durometer and works great under boosted sleds. I really like the 3.5" pitch tracks. I was hoping cat had a twin rail 3" X 3.5" pitch track but it didn't happen. Robby at Avid has run the doo track on the axys chassis and loved it. Time will tell.

I can’t believe anyone even considers putting a doo track on an axys. They trench terribly and come apart faster than the axys track.

So I am torn on what track to run.
Originally I wanted to try the Conqueror 165x2.6" 3.5 pitch. The reason why is I wanted the lightest track and I really liked the 3.5" pitch on my doo. BUT I don't ride super fluffy snow much, mostly more dense coastal type snow and I am worried it'll be too soft and fold on more dense snow. Also heard the durability of the conqueror is meh.

My next choice would be the challenger x2.7 2.7"x162" 3.0 pitch. Seems like this track is better suited for coastal snow and is cheaper. Down side is that the X2.7 weighs 59# and the conqueror is 43#.

Thoughts on which direction I should go?

I am going with the X3. Standard drivers, anti stab kit.
After all the research, and personal experience, it is the way to go.

Die hard poo, I would go with the doo 165 track and cut it down to 15" wide. It is 49 lbs. Same weight as the Polaris 163 2.6".

damx- I have never cut down a track before. But I do like the doo track i have on my skidoos. Best track thus far.

I agree on the doo track working awesome, I was thinking of the 2.7" but half to order from the u.s. or buy a x3 or 3.2 in canada and cut the lugs to 2.7". It can't be that hard to cut 1/2" off each side. Long straight edge, couple of clamps, olfa knife.

Heres my 162 X2.7.
I was kind of lucky with this order. I have a friend who lives in Vermont so I had it shipped there and stopped in to see him while I was driving through on vacation. Saved me a ton on shipping and taxes.

Since the Doo track is flex edge you won’t need to cut fiberglass rods.

Sharp knife and maybe a little lube.

Can you weigh it if you get a chance to confirm the 59# weight? Track looks good otherwise. I may just go this route since it seems to be more setup for my style of riding and its cheap. I just price out a doo 165 3" track and its almost $1400 bucks! No thanks.

This is true, but still would be hard to keep it straight and square. I would need to build some sort of jig I would think or a sheet rock square.

The camso x3 has full clips = 58 lbs. X3 cut to 2.7 56-57 lbs. ? The camso 3.2 has clips every second window and center ported = 54lbs. so removing the clips on the none lug window of a 2.7 should get it down to 52-53 lbs. With a center ported 2.7. The poo 3" 162 = 53 lbs.

Bomber Rails on the way
Avid 3" pitch drivers on the way
162 Conquer 2.8 here while I wait for the Epic 280

We all wanted the suspension to be something new and special but just is not there. Super nice shocks with Assault rail profile is what we get. Either way will be a fun sled for sure!

Old sled found a home, khaos should be here in right around a week.

Drivers are here, 153 PC showed up today, rails should be done in about a week for it... Tunnel shortening goodies are seeing some attention. This is gonna be my simplest build yet, but the one im most excited about!

Here you go

There is a big plus with the center ported track when it comes to tight clearances. The ports allow a lot of air and snow pressure to be released through these holes. Just in-case some are considering to change the drivers to extroverts and run a non-ported track.
