Should the motto "In God We Trust" be removed from U.S. currency? * 14192256 responses
Yes. It's a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.

No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion.

I say the 13% that voted yes should head back to Iran
it's been a liberal dream to get "in god we trust" erased from the money.
They claim seperation of church and state.
It's a crock of SH!T
It should be removed. Our founding fathers wanted government to have nothing to do with the church. They new the problems that arrose from the two combined..
The wording was only put on there to install fear in the "godless commies" in the 50's anyways.. Nothing more or less, just good old propaganda to help Americans define who the "real enemies" are...
blah..
WHO gives a **** Already ! When this is our biggest problem then bring it up !How about ensureing its worth something first! Issues like this remind me of 5 year olds fighting over a the last red lollypop!
I would be more worried about the slogan that says "secular world order" on the dollar bill. Cuz thats what the families that own the federal reserve really want.
Shouldn't government represent the people? The majority of the people? Not the minority!
So why are you so upset if the majority of people want socialism? Oh, that's right, if it doesn't go along with your personal beliefs, it must be bad...
Your prove to me that the majority wants socialism. There is a group that does I'm sure, but the majority of the people that voted for BO either don't have a clue why they did (like my bosses daughter that's in college that said she just thought he'd be good?) or they thought they were going to get something for nothing...oh wait, I guess those people do want socialism, except they are too stupid to know what it's called. They just want FREE everything and could care less who is busting their arse to provide it. And I told my bosses daughter that she would see the light and regret her decision when she graduates from college with loads of debt, hopefully gets a good job, only to see half of her paycheck being taken away for those poor people who deserve it.![]()

do you want to explain what church "In God We Trust" refers to Ruffy?
what is "the church" you refer to Ruffy?
Ya know I don't think the Consitution supports this one way or the other....but your argument lacks meat. This is not an issue regarding church and state.....the government is not supporting a particular religion/church. In fact, the statement does represent 95% percent of the US population that believe in God. Shouldn't government represent the people? The majority of the people? Not the minority! Yes, the founding fathers wanted a seperation of church and state....they were also very profound Christians. The dollar doesn't say...."In Catholics we trust" or "In Protestants we trust" or "In Mormons we trust" or "In Lutherans we trust."
No I don't think if someone doesn't agree with my beliefs it is necessarily bad....don't assume Ruffy....that doesn't help your argument. But, I see things in black and white Ruffy...I see good and evil.

Well let me explain something to ya bro. This is just another angle to take away our freedoms and not represent the people as government should....not vice versa. They start with the smaller things. When the goverment fails to represent the people we have a problem. This is not that big of a deal, but they know if they can do it and not have much backlash...they will move on to the next issue which will be bigger. Our freedoms are being taken piece by piece...starting with the smaller things and I promise they will get bigger and bigger. The dollar bill does not belong to the federal government...it belongs to us! Yes the issue is small! The principle of it is not!!!!!!!!!!!! The principle is all the same and the fight to protect our freedoms encompasses this....the fight to make government represent us encompasses this. I am not focused on the dollar bill, but what I just stated.
Yes you do, your argument even backs it up. You think you are on one side, and everyone else that has a different opinion is on the other. That is the whole point of my comment. Similar along the lines with the phrase "You are either with me, or against me". It is a bs statement.
Oh, and to clarify, never said the person was bad, I said
