Oh how I hate to post this but Baker is open....Just drove up there.There were 4 trks at the entrance so somebody got to ride some great freshies today.Wish I would have gone with my gut and tried to ride.
Tried to drive up the the parking lot,the road is plowed one lane wide but is VERY slick.If you try it please use chains.I only made it 3/4 the way and decided to turn around so I would not tear up the road.I did see tire tracks in the snow in front of me so at least one trk had made it up.
There is a HUGE washout right at the lake Tyee entrance to the top of the small hill,down to one lane.The dirt on the road is 4 ft tall where the grader cut thru to get the road open.After that is is one lane all the way to the entrance to the snowpark.There is still 3 ft of snow on each side of the road.One other washout by the little lake before tyee,they have that open for one lane also.About 4 inches of mud on the road for about 1/2 mile,wow my trk is DIRTY!!
It will be a zoo up there tomorrow,there is very limited parking and I think getting into the parking lot will be hard until they have the time to get the grader up there and plow it down to the gravel.It's only gonna take one trk with a tlr to get stuck trying to get in there and then it's gonna be BAD....
At the entrance there is room for mabie 8 trks with tlrs and then it will be a nightmare.
