Really the only people that I have talked to that have a problem with Obama and his Muslim ties are the republicans. It seems that the Dem's turn a blind eye, just so they can get a Dem in office. Guess they could care less what ties he has. Guess we wont have long to wait to see how it plays out.

Very interesting. I find it odd that "need to take care of" is considered a liberal philosophy. I would think it would be more of a religious philosophy. It is interesting that it is tough love when republicans talk government support, yet bring god into other aspects of their life more freely.

If republicans are spiritual/religious beings why does there spirituality end at governmental policies and procedures? Separation of Church and State? Seems more in line with democrats (cough) philosophy than with republican (cough) beliefs.

Thoughts?

First reaction; a government program is mandatory (as opposed to a donation). Church, individuals, family, can decide who they want to help, reach out to, and is usually based on personal knowledge. A government program becomes a self feeding machine, usually ignoring actual benefits in lieu of a "use it or lose it" policy (prevalent in most government entities).

Separation of Church and State is generally referred to as the prohibition of the State pushing one religion over another. At the same time, this country was clearly founded on the morals stemming from religion, and on the freedom of religion. NOT the absence of.
