Is a silencer nessesary

you dont need the silencer. For some real serious HP and that cool sound just remove the silencer and run a flexible exhaust hose from the stinger into your helmet (around the mouth area is best). this will be cool.

If i take off the silencer would it give me more or less power and torque. i know it would be louder but i dont see a point to have a silencer it just makes it quieter but who wants that. I want to hear the power.

take the silencer off...stick it in your a$$$...we will all be happy then...and when the doctors are removing it have them check out your gene pool...

I don't get it, if we make noise 30 miles from the nearest civilization we are killing the buffalo or otherwise causing the end of the world but if a Harley with straight pipes roars past your house at 2 am they are part of some sort of religion or expressing their freedom ! Maybe we should get tatoo's, ride in muscleshirts and ride in groups of 30 four abreast on the trail, yeah that'll work it works for them.

Exactly, Motorcycles help to save on fuel consumption and ease congestion because they don't take up as much space. Snowmobiles however, do not serve any practical purpose except for personal enjoyment, and again, consume fuel and pollute for only that one purpose, therefore, they are considered to the critics as "expendable". That is something to keep in mind as we fight for our rights to keep our areas open for them, and to be as courteous a bunch as we can.
