April 10, 2009 Report
Took a little spin up at Lake Irwin today...
Most snow is sub-baked slush coated with Utah/Arizona red-dust, some with 2-4" of wind-blown fresh on top of it in places. Pockets of clean/fresh in the north/east facing trees.
We're loosing base fast at lower elevations, but once you get to the "Y", you're looking at 4-6' of base pretty consistently. Go-anywhere snow.
There were a few skier lines coming off of the highest summit of Ruby - amazing lines! (they set off a slush-slide in the 1st rock band down)
The trail out and back is spring slush w/ 3-6' of base.
Spring has sprung!
MD.
GAR - I think we'll easily make my earlier prediction! But the cat is ready to hybernate for the summer as dicsussed.
