IC, Well let me know if your going out again sometime, hopefully Bucky has off the weekend, and isnt Mike S supposed to be showing up?

Bucky has weekends off. And Mike S should have got in last night. Have you been riding much? I think we are going out again on Tuesday..............

I have been getting my fair share of riding in, You better give Ross a call and tell him to get back out here...:) Well have a good day and get ahold of me If you want to ride.

We have sad news around S.W. Montana today. Yesterday there were three avalanches in the surrounding area with three deaths. One in the mountains north of Cooke near Daisy Pass - a massive slide - a second near Mt. Jefferson in the Centennial Range, and the third near Black Butte. Just don't know what to say as we have been preaching the extreme danger this winter out here.............................:confused:

Here is some info on the slides that Kurt has mentioned.

http://www.mtavalanche.com/current/index.shtml

Its a very sad moment for all... So far it sounds like two locals and the third is unknown, one local (Belgrade) at Black Butte area and an Idaho guy (name not released Yet) in the Jefferson area. We hope to investigate the Jefferson slide in a day or two for more info, but will be busy in Cooke until then. Currently, there is probe lines and avalanche dogs on the scene at the very large Daisy Pass slide and the victim has yet to be recovered. Prayers to all the families and friends.

The snow has been good here as we have not been real warm. But with the busy weekend we need new snow as it got beat up. And the bad thing about that is people will start wandering higher to get the untracked snow. And with the current avy conditions that will not be good. This winter has been the most dangerous I have seen since coming here in 1985. There is suppose to be an inversion with temps warmer up high than here in town. A system is suppose to move in here on Wed night. Will have to wait and see if we get it or not. PLEASE people use your heads and go home from your vacation to your family ALIVE...................

Thanks for sharing, let me know when the new snow hits. Hopefully sometime late next week you guys get pounded with it :)

The week after would be great. Headrush, you going to be out there too? Look me up if you are.

wise words from Kurt....do NOT track up that slope!!! the Snow is faceted at teh base layer, and slides can and are occurring...

We lost a GREAT sledder who KNOWS the hills, and he was killed Saturday in teh Gravellies...several slides have happened in the area North of West, and will continue to happen...

This is not a situation that will change until we get SERIOUS rain that soaks all the way to the base layer, as that is where the instability is..

please please PLEASE have the gear, KNOW how to use it, and use the most important device in your arsenal...your head!!!

Yeah, me and my brother (Likkerpig) and our old man are coming out on the 30th and staying through the 5th. I travel alot for work, so have frequent stay points at Holiday Inn, so we stay there for free (basically) otherwise we'd be at the G.W. drinking, talking smart.

When are you guys going to be out? It'd be fun to meet up shred some pow and drink some beer:beer;

Headrush, it's all coming back to me now. I think I've talked to you or your brother on here before!

We'll be out the 1st to 6th!

BLK88GT- Yeah, I PM'd ya a few questions on clutching. Hoping to work on some of that tonight, just need to swap out weights and throw a fresh spring in. Good enough excuse to sit in the shop and get the liver into shape!!

And yes, I do claim him as my brother...USUALLY... :eek::D Really looking forward to getting out of here and drinking as many of these :beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;:beer; as possible!!
