Hey Tommy, Right now an eclipse might be good for us since the sun doesn't seem to be getting us much for snow depth. With the sun around we seem to be going in the opposite direction than we want to be going. We need to get some snow out west before we head out in a couple of months. SNOW BABY SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snow wasn't very good when we left. Thanks again for the hospitality Kurt. Your place is top notch in my books.

Pics on Avy site

Just saw the pictures on the Avy website tonight. Funny how they don't get as much media attention when somebody lives through it. Glad to hear they did though. Becareful out there!

Avy

I saw the guy on the local news tonight. 50 something from washington state been riding in Island park for the last 7 years. Said he had just highmarked a slope and was heading down when he was smacked from behind, he said he bounced off of trees and rocks, his helmet was split in half, and he ended up with one hand sticking out of the snow. His buddies found him because of his "AVALANCHE BEACON". His head was pretty cut up and his face looked like a big bruise, he was still in the intensive care unit in Idaho Falls, but was doing good. He did say that "I DID'NT THINK IT WAS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THERE WAS ONLY 18" TO 2' OF FRESH SNOW AND I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAPPEN TO ME". The news did not say where at in Island Park he was riding. WEAR YOUR BEACON THEY SAVE LIVES.

I remember about 10 years ago a teenage kid with his family up on top of the cornice when he walked to the edge looking over is collapsed and buried him under 15-20 feet of snow. We used to climb back and under that too back in the day.
