Injector swap

Just tried my blue ones in a injector tester and they said that they are good...

I wounder if anybody has changed their injectors even if the computer didnt show any codes on them? Or do they always show codes when they are bad?

I know early on with the 2011's I heard stories about dealers swapping out injectors on poor running sleds even though they werent throwing codes and it was fixing problems. I don't really have any idea what was actually wrong with the injectors though.

Ok, interesting maybe its worth trying to find another pair of injectors then.

Can i borrow 2012 injectors + ECU box from 2012 and testrun it on my 2011? Will it work/fit bolt on?

Yes you can just make sure that you have the green o-ring /spacer on the nozzle end of the 12 . They are different and they always seem to stay in the cylinders .
Do not make the same mistake I did go test ride it . You can not raise the rear of the sled it will not let the sled go above 7300 rpm and act like a bog .

A mechanical issue with an injector (pintle, oriface, or activation) will not show up in DW as a 'code'

If the coil is working and has the correct values... then no code will be set.

Dealer called last night to inform me I am throwing a mag side det code and could be a lean condition , so we are thinking injectors . He is ordering some in to try .
I am thinking by the time I get it back it should be ready for summer storage .

Checked into this a bit more.

ANY dealer can flash the ECU...if the sled is not a warranty item.

If you want to run the 12 injectors and flash in the 2011 PRO 800... you will need a brand new ECU with a "zero program" in it.... not able to re-flash a currently programmed 2011 with the 2012 flash... not physically possible.

and NO this is NOT an update from Polaris...

If you have a 2011 that needs warranty work on injectors... you will get the new UPDATED 2011 injectors and retain the 2011 flash. The updated replacement '11 injectors have proven themselves reliable in customers hands since released last year...

NOTE:
For those of you reading this that have your original injectors in your 2011 sled... there is probably nothing wrong with them. There were some faulty injectors out there but this is not the case "accross the board"... so don't stress out.

I am fighting a mid-range bog as well. Do you have a Polaris part # for the updated 2011 injector/harness? The injectors that are in the sled now are the yellow ones.

Thanks
DD

The only injectors available ARE the updated injectors... They are all yellow-code injectors...you would not have to have your ECU reflashed like those with red or blue code injectors.

New yellow injectors are in and has cured my det issue somewhat. I had blue injectors now running the yellow it is fat on top end. Instead of re flashing I am thinking of going to a fuel controller.
Also it needs more weight in the clutches or a different secondary spring it seems to over rev easily but does not pull 8000 rpm on a steep climb . Also could be too much fuel on top end since it leaves a black strip up the snow while climbing .
Winter is getting short so I hope to get it tuned for next yr.

That person that was color coding ecus got moved over to the glue section . Sorry I could not resit.

First you need Three things to get er done...1) new '12 injectors, 2) a '12 sled, 3) a dealer thats willing to work with this... ok once you have all of these going for you what you need to do is hook up the 2012 sled and have the dealer start to reflash the '12 sled, as soon as all the credentials are passed(i.e reflash autho) but before reflash begins switch all connectors over to the '11 and hit reflash... the computer shouldnt miss a beat and just start reflashing the '11 ecu with the twelve map.. after that you can go check the p/n for the software in the ecu and it should be the '12 map...Go ride with good bosch injectors :face-icon-small-coo
