Rebuild your M8000's at 3000-4000 miles! Cracked Pistons

Currently rebuilding my top end on my 2018 Arctic Cat M8000 and found out both of my pistons are cracked. The sled has about 4200 miles on it, but I have no idea how long the pistons have been cracked for. They are cracked in the same place. The crack is right under the port for the injector. My thinking is it cracked because of heat cycles and the cooling effect of the injectors on that particular part of the piston. I really lucked out now having a piece of piston skirt break off and ruin my motor.

Good catch ! But this should only apply to 18/19 MY as in 20 there was a piston change among other things. I believe the off shore model ran the slotted piston beyond 2019 but I don't know for how long.

Not really a complaint, just an fyi to not put it off for long. I really got lucky not having a skirt break off and ruin my bottom end.
Was not directing that at you- just a overall observation that motors don't owe a anything after 2500 miles...
