no crime in making a living for sure.....but I bet it ends up pennies on the dollar that goes to causes..............
I should pay your way just so I can see paid member under your user name.

are you serious? that is bs....Heck, you and I watch some of them have entire conversations just with themselves using multiple Alters in the same thread.
I should pay your way just so I can see paid member under your user name.
thats not the reason it says what it says.....

You would not be the first person to buy an anonymous membership and have me apply it to someone else's account.I should pay your way just so I can see paid member under your user name.
That I am certain of, there are 1,153 known tracked alters to members on this site. There may be more than have slipped in under the radar screen over the years that were missed before I started last summer.are you serious? that is bs....
I was going to buy a hps can from you, but since you are a paying member I will purchase it elsewhere now.
Free Basic Member and always will be. I will take it one step further. If I see you are a paid member I will not be posting to help you. If you are a non paying member then I will help you out. That should let you know where I stand on this subject.

dang, should make a sticky with peoples names and associated alters....That I am certain of, there are 1,153 known tracked alters to members on this site. There may be more than have slipped in under the radar screen over the years that were missed before I started last summer.
Thus yes, there are those on this site who's sole purpose is to stir up as much contention as possible, and who think nothing of perpetuating their perspectives and trying to make one person appear to be many people by simply logging in and out as several different Alters in the course of a thread.
That will likely come to an end at long last when we convert over to paid memberships. Unless of course these same people are willing to pay for the opportunity to talk to themselves.
Why Catwoman, why would he want to do that?
Thats no fun.
Why do any of these guys create Alters, if not to be able to disguise who they really are.
i think more peeps are upset that they are now being asked to pay for something in which they helped create. help build it and then we'll charge you for it is not a very good business model. this is one of the reasons i'm sure they have no set date for the change, feeling the waters to see if they can get enough paid members. they are gonna have to prove membership numbers to advertisers, which are gonna plummet. i mean real numbers, not the ones they had from before which will no longer patronize this site after the change. time will surely tell...
my .02 here. most other websites have the OPTIONAL premier, vip, doocrew membership. it does not effect a non vip member from what they see or read on the entire site. the other sites set up optional private forums for premier members. they give them swag from the website. enlarge picture posting, mail box size avatar and have special features non paying members dont have ect....
but one thing they dont do is, limit the normal non paying member from seeing the site or threads no matter the length except for the premier/vip area. you have to be a prefered member to get there.
it isnt about the money. it would be nice to be asked, instead of forced. i already have a magazine subscription, why should i as a magazine subscriber pay for both the site, and the mag? why not offer a sign up... buy one, get the other free?
there are supporters for both sides, we have to come to an agreement to work with one another, or we will lose this tight knit community. it would be better to have both sides bend, than both sides stand their ground. there will be no winners in a stand off like that.
i emplore snowest and harris publishing look into this further, before pulling the plug and limiting non paying members site access, especially those that hold a subscription to the magazine. take a look at totallyamaha (both sites 2 and 4 stroke), look at dootalk, hcs ect.... they do not limit their non paying members they offer upgrades, would be nice for you guys to follow suit. you may see you will get more flies with honey, than vinegar.
i know we all think we are right in this but, sooner or later it will come to blows. are you really prepared to lose x amount of people over this? money can still be generated and memberships will continue to sell. just look at the options. please. ski
This is probably one of the best posts I've seen on SW recently! Very true, you nailed it!Begging, pleading, trying to reason...none of these will change the SET course. It is Christophers stated purpose to try and "encourage" non payers to buy an inexpensive membership, so that you "have a stake" in the future of the site.
There is some seriously scary language being used by the powers that be. I would still VERY MUCH like to see them put thier money where their mouth is and abruptly pull the plug, and do it very soon. Then those of us who truely appreciate the comraderie of the sport can gather elsewhere. It is kind of a mess for now. That is how these transitions work. This one is being well played, but in the end, it is money or nothing. In all fairness, it is almost nothing, but might as well be unless you pay up. Sad but true.
