On the black canyon loop we found a solid one foot of powder. Visibility is about a half mile clear. Wind chill brought temp down around -20. Make sure to dress warm haha.

Definitely better than last week, we could hop off and play anywhere there was openings.

The trail was taken care of mostly.

We launched from the big springs warming hut. Our group was Christopher, 801, rich racer, and sled goddess.

Great day minus the chill.

6 of us spent the day riding in Island Park today.
We parked just at the top of Ashton Hill and rode out on S. Antelope Flat Road to Sagebrush Spring Reservoir.

Much to our surprise it was UNTRACKED and had a solid 9 inches of "fresh" powder! Most of the meadows all along Antelope Flat Road were also untracked and wide open. Once back into the woods, there was 12 inches of fresh clean "sparkling" snow pretty much everywhere.

Came back to the parking lot, crossed highway 20 and then rode to Mesa Falls. And again was just amazed at how good the snow was and how almost none of it had been tracked.

Turned out to be a OUTSTANDING day's ride!

First time I have ever run my Trail Tank all the way to Empty just playing in the snow!!

12 of us parked at the lower messa falls lot in IP and rode bear gulch and up to last chance~ about a foot to a foot and a half of snow~ clicked alot of rocks and bumped several stumps~ found some play areas but ya really have to be careful!!!!

A very sad snow situation this year so far but at least you were able to get out and enjoy yourselves. Certainly beats the alternative.

There's good snow if you know where to go to find it! Rode west Yellowstone area the day after Christmas and it was awesome until 2 days ago when the wind started blowing, just got down riding island park for the last few days and it wasn't bad. But seeing how much snow steamboat is getting, we canceled our cabin here in IP and are driving to steamboat now! Little to cold and wind blown but like I said, there's still good riding if you know where to go and find the fresh powder.

Ya, right now the "forecast" is mighty bleak.
We need some MOISTURE in the form of SNOW!!
