I Ware Glasses- Goggles or Modular?

I put baby oil on my glasses to keep them from fogging.

carry a plastic bag with lint free rag and cotton balls to lube up the lenses.

At the end of the day use the cotton balls to styart a fire.

I have an Ski Doo X-team modular for cruising and not going off trail.
Used on one ride out of dozens last year.

Also use a MX style helmet , Fly , Troy Lee , Shoei.
Use an 89xi turbo quick strap set up . Works great. When they fog ( baby oil wiped off) I can quickly remove the goggles to see with little concern of loosing the goggle.

I can't get laser and contacts fall out.

Try contact lenses. Get yourself daily use lenses and you won't have to worry about solutions and all that BS. Contacts work way better than ***gin with glasses, why bother. Don't get a NMFH.

If you do decide that a modular helmet works best for you then you should get a big NMFH sticker for the back of it. That would be funny as h*ll!:D

ive ben riding sleds since 1970's with glasses ,tried everything goggle wise, always fogged:mad:, and that sux trying to ride. skidoo came out with a modular helmet back in 2003, and i wouldnt ride [with glasses on] without it. never had a fogging problem, ever!!! even riding in 30 below, i now have the skidoo modular BV2S, it is by far the best helmet out there for glasses wearers. i now dont have to where them do to lasik. but still prefer my bv2s helmet to my klim f4 when its anything below 20' out. chris

I obviously have to make a decisision here. I have worn an old pair of otg goggles that were loaners from a friend. They were alright. I just wanted to hear about some other options. I can't wear contacts, which sucks or I would just go that route. Thanks for all of the resources and places to go. I'm going to start digging through them and going to a couple of shops to try stuff on. Thanks for all of your input.

I prefer an open face with a flipup no fog shield. I have worn glasses all my life, contacts don't work for me either. The key thing is to get a good breath deflector face mask. I bought a couple from my Artic Cat dealer and they worked great. This is about $40 bucks total. I moved out here from Iowa where it was normal to ride in 0 to -10 temps. You look stupid in this outfit but it works consistantly. Or a more expensive solution would be to move to central Idaho and never ride in freezing temps again. :-) I haven't used my stuff in 4 years.

Provue ?

Does ANYBODY have experience with PROVUE goggles?

Goggles over glasses = fog more often then not

They make Over the Glasses goggles so they clear...and are those less prone to fogging than regular goggles over glasses?

No - they're just bigger to accomodate the glasses.

Actually yes. They have larger vent openings that allow more air to flow across the glasses and keeps them dry and ice free. If you have ice build up just start riding and turn your head slightly to one side to get air flowing and it clears right up. Also, use the no fog spray in conjuntion with the no fog wipe. It is alchol based and will keep your glasses and goggles from fogging up. You will need to apply it 2 or 3 times during a hard day of riding.

I rarely have any fogging problems and I ride in all conditions and temps (although I don't like riding in temps of -20f).

^^ Yea but they still fog like crazy...depending on how you ride, conditions etc...etc...etc

I use perscription goggles, they work awesome. Just go to your local eye glasses store, some have them and some don't....

Biggest problem is always the glasses fogging up inside the goggles.

The goggles are usually NOT the problem...it's the glasses inside that fog up. The Pro-Vue prescription goggle lenses are supposed to work well.

Anyone running those??

I've been using the Pro-Vue prescription goggles for 4 years now. Love them! I do get a little bit of fogging, but only at really slow speeds, like 5 mph, and after I just get done digging a sled out. Next winter I hope to try the Klim helmet with all that ventilation and see if that helps clear up the little fogging that I do get.
