i need new goggles what to get?

I've had just about every goggle on the market... I've used the new 509's so far this year and they work great! My only issue is that the strap seems to be coming apart along the edges on them. They are also on the smallish side for my Fox V3's so wind gets in to your forehead on the really cold days, but its the same deal as Oakley's or Dragons. (rode from home this morning and it was -28F) For those days I have some Smith Snow Pistons that cover up a bit more. Whatever you decide though, a dual lens is a must.
Can't go wrong with the 509's, mine shipped quick and the glasses are badazz too.

These goggles are well worth the money, plus you get a DVD when you order them. I think we love the DVD Vertical Ascent just as much as the goggles and the tunes are good too. Try 'em you won't regret it.

I was looking on the 509 site and didn't see anything about otc. are they otc friendly?
My wife has some otc googles... they have an S on them.. can't remember the brand with quick straps... which I broke today So I may have to replace hers as well....
When the quick strap breaks and you're left with that sticky circle on the helmet... how do you get that off? or should I just stick the new one to that one?

Jeff....if I pick 3 colors...what do you like for low/flat light, bright sun and night?
Gold 5th, use a product called Goo Gone you can get at target or walmart to get the excess adhesive off. Then clean it it up further with isopropyl to give you a really clean surface for the next application.

FORGET IT...FOUND ANOTHER POST ANSWERING THE QUESTION.
So what's the best lense for the 509's for very low light? I want something that I can see the terrain better with when the sun isn't out and it's cloudy.

I'm not saying 509's are bad because I've never tried them. But I bought Smith Snow Warp's when they first came out and I'm on my second pair now. My new one's are the Snow Warp Ti's and they're great, they don't fog just like my old ones. When I was looking to buy another pair I wouldn't look at anything else, not because the other stuff isn't good. But because the Smith Snow Warp's worked so well for me. Good Luck

I love my Oakley's, but after the rave reviews for the 509's I may try them out next.
Here is a HUGE vote of confidence on the newest Scott XI. I'm running some prototype XI's with a cool new velcro/leather/metal based quick strap system. These things flat dominate the old "quick strap brand" with the plastic un-releasable release that normally snaps off or pulls the glue off your lid and then your screwed for the day. For the goggles the rose lenses seem to be the best overall from bright to dim. I also have some kind of monochromatic (?) clear lenses for coming home at night but they are so far inferior to rose that I use them very seldomly. ONCE AGAIN watch for these new quick release straps from SCOTT. WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!
Definitely the clear or chrome/clear. I run the chrome/clear almost exclusively and love them. The orange tint rocks for low defiinition visibility too. It's unreal how well it highlights the terrain.
I'm sure the 509's are nice if they ever come in the mail. I ordered (and was charged) for mine over a month ago - still haven't seen them.
I'm in the same boat still waiting for over a month now.Can't get a reply on e-mails either to see what the hold up is. Hate to sound like I'm b**chin' but I'd really like to try them out. Maybe Tom will let me know?
