haha, this is awesome! I can't wait to see how it plays out! I can't believe there is people who actually get away with scams like this...

Here is the email I sent! This should be fun. I'm pretty sure my business will take me to place the sled is stored next. :)

Man! I saw this sled run in Revy, BC this past winter! Did you buy it from Tom? I'm going to be in Monroe this week on business, I would love to stop by and take it off your hands.

Thanks,

I had the same kinda bull$hit happen this summer, my son was selling his 86 Honda on craigslist and some yahoo said he would give him $5000.00 if he would ship it to Canada and he said the check is in the mail. The guy kept e-mailing him making threats to him about shipping the bike to him or he would get the fbi on him,so of course a 15 year old kid is going to get a little freaked out. So finally I said get the guy's phone# and I will call him, well the guy say's I live where there is no access to a phone. I knew it was a scam after I heard that. About a week later we get a check for the $5000g and it looks like a real company check with wells fargo being the bank, so I take him to that bank and try to cash it. So of course the manager comes out and tells us that it was fraud and the check was a bunch crap. The only thing I could figure is that they were hoping that we would try to deposit the check in my own account so they could get my account info. and get a free bike.

$19,000!!! I'm taking the one in the South, it's only $2,900! :D

BTW: That is a SWEET looking sled! Does it come with straps to hold your hands on the handlebars?

I think I'm going to send an email using my wife address also. Keep spreading the word!

Someone should be doing some homework to find out where this sled is. It sounds like a couple of you guys should be able to track it down.

Somehow I doubt that it is really in Monroe LA.

You want to get these guys, get some facts and turn them in to the Feds.

Gonna have fun with this one..... I have a "friend" who is a "cop" in that area who would like to check it out for me, that will be the next email! haha

You do understand how these scams work don't you? They don't actually have possession of the sled. They are doing nothing more than using old pictures to sell a sled that somebody else put up for sale(legitimately) in the past.

Contacting the feds is pretty much worthless, they have bigger fish to fry.

Ya shortstop, I've got a pretty good idea of the dynamics of their scam. My statement about it not being in Louisianna wasn't litteral, it was sarcastic.

My point is that if someone can assist the feds in catching these scammers, they should.

I supplied a link to the department of the FBI which is dedicated to investigating these operations, and it sounds like a couple of people who have posted; can provide enough evidence to give the FBI a good lead.

Thiefs belong in prison...

I got a reply to my email!!!! I think this sled is MINE! This should be fun!

I appreciate your interest in my 2007 Yamaha Apex. The price I'm asking for the on the sled is $2,700, the price includes all the shipping costs and insurance, so you won't have to pay any extra charges. The sled is in excelent condition and runs great. I have opened a farm two years ago in Alberta but it is not working anymore and I decided with my partner to cover some money by selling all the units that we have.So if still interested let me know.Thank you

Here is my reply...not bad if I say so myself. :)

Oh, yeah! I'm in the Monroe area for the next couple days. Please let me know where I can pick up this big boy!! I have plenty of room in my truck...I know this might sound weird, but I deliver caskets for a national company. So I'm all over the country.

Thanks,

Kelly

**I bet my next delivery of caskets will be where this sled is "so-called" stored. Man, I love doing this stuff. :)

She sent me the exact same reply. LOL

In the first e-mail I sent her I told her I'd give her $3500 if she could get me a case of Budweiser and a Russian midget mail order bride to go along with the sled. LOL

She didn't say anything about it though in the reply so I'm guessing it's a no go.
