that a dandy whitetail must be in the 160s
here is a sitka blacktail its average size for here, they are small but tasty & alot of fun to hunt 40 miles by boat then hike up into old logging slashes.the extra bonus of praws & crab for supper sorry didnt get picks of the crabs.
off to Saskatchewan tomorrow for big whitetails.

No pics for ya. But it was good to see wisconsin finally opened up a hunting/trapping season for them this year. Despite all the animal rights people trying to stop it.

My bull shot opening day 520 yds 6x6 310 BC gross not as big as my first elk but ill take him
My Dads first elk ever 250 yds. Mid 340 main frame but had a broken right G1 so 327 from a gross score. 2+ ft of snow 8 miles from the trail head. Thank god for horses
No deer poor fawn crops combined with large coyote problems make for very poor deer hunting this year

nice elk, guess you need to get out coyote hunting now
my 2012 bow kill... its my first bow kill ever.
it all started with me decieding whether or not to shoot this 5x4 that came walking in.. he stood broadside for 20 minutes at 15 yards... just as i was gonna let an arrow fly i looked off to my right and all i could see coming over the hill was his rack. what felt like an eternity of time waiting for him to come in, he made his way and stopped at 13 yards.. i pulled back and let my mission venture with goltip arrows tipped with g5 montecs fixed 3 blade broad heads to the work... i shot, the other 8 deer standing around all took off.. I knew i hit him. and hit him well. i watied 45 minutes b4 going to track him. well in that time it got pitch black and started to rain.. i started to worry i wouldnt be able to find the blood trail. after calling the land ownder and my family they all came out to help me find it.. after 10 minutes of looking i found my buck of a lifetime laying just 50 yards from where i shot it.
here he is. 6x6 main frame, scores 165 and will be going on the wall. taxidermist predicts him to only be 2.5 years old. cldnt imagine what he would have been like in 2 years.

thank you!!! thats what everyone is telling me also. lol.. i guess if i dont get too shoot another one that big, thats fine. as long as i can keep bow hunting. im addicted to the rush that it gives ya when they come in so close and u can hear them eat the apples and corn.
here is a pic of that deer back when he was in velvet...
