how much do you try and talk the dealer down?

$200 isn't much, but you would think the dealer would offer something. Maybe a belt, tunnel bag or 20% off accessories at the time of purchase. He wouldn't loose any money on the accessories, just wouldn't make any for the sale of the sled.

So if i read this right
7850 for the 600
8350 for the 800

thats a no brainer... get the 800. But i personally think both are priced way too high. You could buy a 07 800 with 300-400 miles for under 7000... buy used its cheaper and still has a warranty.

i have heard horrible things bout the 800s, all of my friends with them have them in the shop more than they ride them. i wanna get a sled to ride...

i thought dealers usually threw in a extra belt with the sled anyway??

Just to let you know you don't have to buy a Ski-Doo......:eek:

Island park ski-doo also sells yamahaa, why not a nytro if your looking for 600 class power?

Ironic that I read this thread because I just got off the phone with a yammy dealer in BC, asking about a used turbo apex (yeah yeah I know its an apex but its got boost and they're not as bad as people make them out to be). They are asking 17,500, I offered 16,000 and they said 16,800 is the best they can do. Not too bad IMO seeing as how a new Apex here is $14k and then the turbo is another 6-9k. Now I just gotta talk to the bank and see if I can get a loan for that much:eek::D

When I bought my first ever (and only) new sled I picked a dealership in a small town almost 2 hours away. They were straight up, easy to deal with, and now if I have any major repairs, I'll drive it down there because I've gotten to know the mechanics and their staff quite well. I feel that because they're in a smaller community, they have to provide great service...won't be around long if they suck. Just my .02.

I probably would not have gotten into sledding if it had not been for my local dealer. The service is great, and the friendships are lifelong.
I don't try to beat him out of his couple hundo he makes from the sale of a sled, whatever he charges me I pay with a smile.

Depends on the dealer. One of the dealers I spend a lot of time/money at I don't even try and talk them down. They know I do my research, they know if they quote me a good price I'll take it without question. But... I almost never buy anything bigger then accessories from them.

I haven't dealt much with the people here in Laramie much, bought a sled and feel like I got a good deal. But I did talk with them for a couple days before pulling the trigger.

cmantle. Here in mccall idaho they have 2 more 07 800's. both are in the 7000 range out the door. That dealer is way to high. O i forgot, they are offering a 2 year warranty, 1st-bumper to bumper, second is engine. its hinson power sports. the number is 208-634-7007. Ask for shane or dan.
