So last night my woman was budgeting for a vacation trip so I decided to sit down and figure out what I was spending on a sledding a year. The results were a bit more than I thought. It is simple for me because I only drive a truck when sledding and it was cheap.

2000- truck and insurance per year
1000- rough cost of trailer per year
2500- all fuels per year-could be a little low
1000- minor fixes and mod/belts through the year
500- new gear
1000-food
1500-booze
1500 lodging
400-sled insurance
11,400 per year

IDk if I am the norm lower or higher than everyone else but to be honest idk how I afford this off 50g a year. I am just wondering how much you guys with the turbos, new truck and trailers spend. Hell it is just a thought.

HAHA

you spend more on Booze then food and clothing!

You are way hi compared to me.

Truck--would have anyway--snow tires every three years--$300 per year
Trailer--use the same deck for 7 years and its still going strong--$150 per year
fuel--$2000--I drive about 150 to the snow on average
minor fixes--$400--plugs, belts, misc.
new gear--$400
sled insurance--$250
Lodging--$600
Booze--$100
sled pmt--$1200

Total--$5400

I didn't ride a ton last season but typically average about 600 miles a year. Mileage would be more but I live too far away from the hills. I also have an advantage because my family lives about 30 miles from the snow park so I crash there as often as possible.
I'm likely low compared to most!

Money

I do drive all over and it is easy to spend 100 bucks a night on booze. Also I sled basically every weekend if it snows. My truck is only for sledding so it is probably a bit high. There

Dear Moderator,

Please pull this thread before the majority of wives find out and make us sell the sleds and stay home to change diapers and do dishes.

Thank you.

The second half of this question is how much would we spend at the phychiatrist and anti-depressants if we didn't go sleddin?

Ill put it this way.
I start the winter with X amount of F--K you money, by the end of my season It comes to an average of 20,000 a year. Not including sled purchase every year. I don't consider myself to be a big traveler, I do some say 5 big trips a year.

It is one of those things that should not be kept track of LOL! Do what you can afford!!! Pay bills,, RIDE!!! Is there any other way???

You spend 100 bucks a yr on booze? Man I better cut back a bit. Apparently filling the vnose full of beer isn't normal to some people ha

Everyone needs to have a hobby, it just depends where you decide to spend your money. Guys who sit at home doing their hobbies also spend as much as us sledders. Wood workers spend money on table saws, sanders, planers, drills, clamps, blades, bits, glue, wood, etc. Computer junkies need massive computers, monitors, back up hard drives, software, etc, that cost as much as a sled. Heck, when I get old I don't want to be the guy who remembers the good old days when he sat around enjoying watching Jello harden. Every hobby has a cost, I work hard and I'm happy with where I spend my money.
