pics from Saturday - 24-30" of snow on the trails, some places where it had blown off the trees it was over 3' deep
Soooo...... The groomers didn't make it?????, damnnnnn
Best snow I've seen in years. Untouched meadows and hills all weekend. Deepest tree riding you could ever imagine.
I'm heading up tomorrow with my wife. She isn't very experienced. By the looks of things she might not have much fun since she's never ridden in that much snow before. I was going to go to green rock. Does anyone have any suggestins where to go? Should we unload at Albany instead? I'm not very familiar with the area. I'm gonna have a blast in this much pow pow!
The trail system at Albany won't be as full of snow (groomer was plowing the road down a bit when we were headed out yesterday), and you can head up T trail to the huge meadow that the warming hut sits in to get into some powder but nothing that is too deep. The wind keeps that place with a consistent shallow powder. You can head up W trail from there to get to some "deep" stuff and still have it easy for the wife to ride. If you want to get to some of the "good" powder my suggestion is just find a spot in the trees wide enough to get your sled through and see where it goes, but that isn't fun for people that aren't experienced.I'm heading up tomorrow with my wife.
