How 'bout them snowies?

pics from Saturday - 24-30" of snow on the trails, some places where it had blown off the trees it was over 3' deep

The groomer was out somewhere on Sat night/this morning - we didn't se it back in the lot when we left today.

The trails were pretty beat up for the first few miles, then everyone peeled off and did their thing. I don't know if running a groomer on this snow is going to do much, as dry as that snow is - it probably won't stay put for too long, and the moguls will be right back after a few passes.

We're heading out to Centennial from the 19th thru the 27th. Looks like we missed some great snow by a week. How's the forecast look for next week?

Best snow I've seen in years. Untouched meadows and hills all weekend. Deepest tree riding you could ever imagine. I see guys are posting about the grooming. Are you people serious? Guess that's why 90% was FRESHHHHHHHHH. Thanks fellas!

We gave up trying to do the tight slow speed tree running. You just sank in to fast to be able to keep going. If you stopped, you were done. This was one of those rare storms that justify have a 163 X 16 track.

Even the Anti-hero with his 144 was wishing for more track this weekend and he loves his 144.:D Cource my 155 wasn't enough in a couple situations we got into. We figured we would ride till around 3-3:30 then start back. When I put my sled in for the 3rd time we decided we were done.

We are riding out of Green Rock on Thursday and would like to try out some new areas. I have never been down Trail O which will get us to X much faster than takeing U to N. How is Trail O and NO?

Simply amazing!!!

Rode this weekend and probably one of the best powder weekends we've had. I couldn't believe all the untouched areas just off the trail. We didn't have go very far to find amazing snow, didn't even make it to the backside. Talk about a work out, but man was it fun.

I'm heading up tomorrow with my wife. She isn't very experienced. By the looks of things she might not have much fun since she's never ridden in that much snow before. I was going to go to green rock. Does anyone have any suggestins where to go? Should we unload at Albany instead? I'm not very familiar with the area. I'm gonna have a blast in this much pow pow!

IMO here is what you should do:

When you leave Laramie and head west - if you can see the tops of the peaks head for Greenrock, if you can't see the top of the mountain head to Albany. If you are not familiar with the area, it is easier to find your way around the trails down by Albany, than it is up top during a storm. If it is clear you should be able to navigate from either parking area. Just my opinion though.

The trail system at Albany won't be as full of snow (groomer was plowing the road down a bit when we were headed out yesterday), and you can head up T trail to the huge meadow that the warming hut sits in to get into some powder but nothing that is too deep. The wind keeps that place with a consistent shallow powder. You can head up W trail from there to get to some "deep" stuff and still have it easy for the wife to ride. If you want to get to some of the "good" powder my suggestion is just find a spot in the trees wide enough to get your sled through and see where it goes, but that isn't fun for people that aren't experienced.

Thanks for the coordinates Sleddinhusker. Chads and I will be heading out there Wednesday to check things out. Great pics!
