How about them Non-Boosted Nytro's?

Been riding ski-doo's for 8 years and taking a hard look at the Yamaha's again. I have no intention of putting a turbo on anything and seem's like that's all guys do here. Must be someone out there like me that doesn't need a huffer to get around. How do you guys like your stock Nytro's and Apex's?

they do great even without a turbo. lol a tad on the heavy side but, keep 'em over the 20 mph mark and they're fun to ride!:)

I like them.

Love the stock Nytro MTX so far (only added Fox floats and gas shock for rear skid), ride was good on trail, climbed well don't expect to highmark an XP and boondocked awesome. Very happy so far!!! I didn't get stuck nearly as much as the other guys on other brands!

im riding a nytro RTX shorty floats up front, clickers in the rear, awsome in the trails, im running a 121' 2' paddles and its awsome now, and i can eat my buddys zr900 on the flats, and im also just finished the other weekend and beat out a xp600 mod making about 160-170hp so im really happy with it, as for boondocking couldnt tell you because i had a 121' 1 1/4 on befor so she didnt do all that great, but its a fun sled and but and exhaust and droped two boggys to lose some weight, but im really happy good buy for me and also reliable, and no more pulling lol

Rode mine stock for about 180 miles and really liked it. It climbs really well for what it is and is very maneavarble. The chassis is excellent very easy to ride and is built very well. Little things like it being quiet, starts easy, and smooth throttle make a big difference. Sure it is still heavy compared to 2 strokes but Yamaha has made a lot progress.

Been riding a stock 2006 Apex for 2700 miles and still puts a grin on my face. Has lived up to Yamaha reliability. Best boondocking machine I have ridden (comapared to my old 1996 skido summit,2001 800 rmk). Throttle response is crisp, and overall rideability in deep, excellent. Engine vibration---non existant. Quiet, and nooooooo smoke. Would definitely buy Yamaha again. Heavy, who cares, buy the snojack and lifting problem goes away when stuck.

I have a few buds with stock nytros and they love it. Apex stock is plenty fun also. Stock wouldn't have been an issue with me until one day somebody MADE me ride a boosted sled. Since then it's been a different world but i was plenty satisfied before.

I love mine i will never buy a 2 stroke again, i love the boondocking it moves side to side and carves with little effort, you look where you want to go and the sled will go there, i havent done any real climbing with it yet, im not into himarking i spend all my time in the trees and open fields.

but i would buy one in a second again if somethign happened to mine
hope that helps

Stock They Suck

Stock Nytro is the worst sled on snow. Suspension is weak unless you your under 50lbs it will sack out on the bumps.Dive in the corners, No power. The track it to short. Should be 16" .The handle bars are in a bad riding position. You cant read the gauge. Should I go on????? Ive swap everything on mine spent 15 k on mod work . Now it is the fastest best sled I Have ever owned.Thank God for Turbos!!!!! and after market toys.

I have 1,130 miles on mine and love it. I did a pivoting riser, 153 camo(cost $75 to swap tracks), and heavy Apex torsion springs. Under $500 in mods and it rocks.

Love mine. Over 2000km now and still going strong. Went thru sliders like there was no tmrw but I think I figured that problem out. It is the funnest sled I have ever ridden......boondocking, jumping, drops. Not the greatest climber but that's not what I bought it for.

And they're all heavy when they're stuck!!!!!!!!!:D

:)

I've been riding mine bone stock - oh wait, I did add a skid plate. Fully geared up I am probably 200 - 210# or so. I don't ride trails but when I do, I haven't had any problems with the suspension. 90% of the miles I have put on it are in 1-4 feet of fresh powder and I have had absolutely no problems with it doing anything but providing un-ending fun. No trenching, diving, etc. The biggest thing with this sled is learning how to use the throttle - very different from a 2 smoker.

My only gripe is the thing darts like a MF on the trails so I just avoid them :) That said, I'm guessing dealer set-up has a lot to do with it since many folks have had trenching issues.

I have not had a problem with my track, except on the trails
I have not had a problem diving and darting, except on the trails
I have not had a problem with the rear suspention except on the trail
I have no problem with the bars or riser
I have no problem with no power, dealer put a clutch kit in it and I'll bet it
will give any stock 800 a run for it's money... if your into drag racing.

You so called boondockers ride to much trail... get a trail sled thats built
for that.

I've never had my Nytro dive in the corner in pow.
I've never had my sled bottom out in pow.
I don't have a problem with traction in the pow.

It is a chitty trail sled!

i have the RTX shorty like i said, with the floats and clickers its a deadly trail sled but i have it set up for snocross as well, just need heavier springs in the rear, i do bottom out at about 7-8 feet flat landing, just when you have that suspention dialed in then shes a blast in the trails, and i do give the zr900 more then a run for his money, and also i had the chance at a xp600mod and i made small work of him aswell, all drags tho.

Tell me a stock sled that doesn't need all those mods you mentioned!!!!!!
I did the bar riser, tunnel, track, wheels, etc too, but didn't have to, just wanted to............ love it & will never go back to 2-smokers. can you say RELIABILITY????? nobody has it like Yammy does. totally depends what you're lookin for in a sled........... it won't highmark but you'll have more fun carving up the hill than anyone else & not have that "is my belt going to blow up here?" question in your mind every pull at the hills
