Look awesome. I think they'd be worth the money if they work at no snow build
up. In the last thousand miles I have ruined my klim boots from kicking the snow away

agreed, they should be steel toes at times

ice screws for traction will tear them up just as bad, but you will have grip!

I also agree they are nice looking parts, but crazy $$$$$

I bet they would sell really well if they were about $250 maybe even $300 but $450 is pretty steep for boards.

They would be perfect for a guy that had cut out to much of the stock boards for some cheap eleminators and had nothing left to rivet too. I bought a sled from a forum member that had been hacked at with a hammer or something! Nothing left but the corner bend to the tunnel. I had to attach new eleminators to new edges and rivet the hell out of it all.

Would have been cool to do these. 450 is just about right. Imo.

i disagree. if the snow doesn't build up, then i wouldn't be kicking. It is not the boards themselves that are ruining my boots, it is the constant kicking the hell out of the boards to get the snow off.

Ditto what vdog said, on one of my 07's I had fastlane boards, they had screws all over them, but they shed the snow so well I don't think I ever kicked at those boards. If these work the same they could be a good product, but getting rid of the whole floorboard makes me nervous.

My klim boots are pretty torn up on the bottoms from my fastlane boards with screws. Just letting you know what I have found with the ice screws. Ill gladly deal with boot wear, for the added grip.

You guys are correct....if the snow and ice doesn't build up you should not be doing any foot work. No foot work/minimal boot wear!

i find that snow eliminators (and i'm sure that these would be the same) allow too much snow to come up through the boards. sure, most of it falls right back through again, but not before turning the bottoms of my pants into iceballs. also, if these eventually build up with ice the way the snow eliminators do, you can't kick it loose. you have to get off the sled and use a tool of some sort to chip it away. at least with stock boards all the ice clears out with just a couple of kicks, and everything is totally clean again.

for these to work, there needs to be a flap underneath that covers the holes as you are traveling through deep snow, but then hangs down and allows the snow to drop out when you stop or cross some packed snow. probably look kinda dumb, but thats the only way i would go back to open running boards.

And about the price ? :face-icon-small-con

Skinz Protective Gear always produces the highest quality stuff on the market. These boards have a TON of labor involved to create a finished product. There are a lot of options on the market under $200. WRP, Better Boards, Fastlane, Snow Eliminator, all nice products and a different price point. These boards are for the serious rider who spares no expense when it comes to his/her sled. I've used the WRP boards and love them. Snow and Ice do still build up which you can't get away from due to the design of a flat snow evacuation board.

I'm going to use a Polaris RMK as an Example:

Stock boards - SUCK! (Pre-2011)

WRP Boards - Huge Improvement

Skinz Boards - Problem solved

Let's take another product example:

Any sled....

800cc - Does an okay job of getting around.

800cc Piped & Clutched - Wakes it up and you go higher

800cc TURBO - The sky is the limit!

Just about how much you want to spend.
