homemade air intake?

i used to race stock cars so i new that i could go and buy prefilters for my air intakes for my car the round ones and i just cut it up. the thing about my desing was having to gutt the bafles in the air box but after the air vent holes where in a sawzal and razer knife made it pretty easy.

i gave up on this homemade air intake intake idea and bought a timbersled set up! I'm glad i did, went out today in 5 feet of fresh snow , no base and it only bogged on me once, considering last time i went out it was bogging all day! be safe out there guys, sounds like a lot of avys are happening

Here's some pics of my intake. Not ready yet. I'm wondering if I need that blue/white stuff at all? First I was going to put that stuff over those holes and cover whole thing with mesh but may it work if I put mesh only?

Weight is awesome: below 200gr!
I'm going to separate front of the hood so fresh air will be taken from outside the hood.
