Holz D&R install, step by step with pics

Thanks

You very welcome. No it didn't, and I my self I have no idea... If you give me the measurement I could try and give you a rough idea. I know the fastrax D&R DOES NOT allow for the tunnel dump. But Holz I'm not sure about.

Okay, I am waiting for my turbo, once it shows up and is installed maybe I will shoot some measurements over and see what you think. Probably won't be for a month or two though.

the holtz drop and roll drops the chain case down and doesnt move it backwards, where the ftx one drops and rolls, moving it down and back. i would think that the holtz wouldnt effect the location for the tunnel dump at all. my issue with the ftx is that it came back over an inch and there wasnt an inch to give for the tunnel dump exhaust, so now i'm making a custom down pipe for the turbo that will be oval shaped and fit in the limited space. should work out i hope

I have been watching your build and your sled looks sweet! I also saw the teaser of your wreck. I can't believe you thought you were going up that! Then again I wouldn't have guessed that you could of made it to where you did!! Awesome!

I am putting a turbo on this year, as soon as it shows up, and I am just making plans for when I need something more out of my sled. I am thinking a holz drop and "no" roll, anti stab, avid drivers, and Camo Extreme 2.5. along with a new skid, that will probably be next year after the cost of the BD turbo!

Thanks MH! ...

Are you sure my sled isn't a dragon?? It came with the 08 dragon hood, had stock walkers front and back. I was under the impression that the 08 155 dragon just had the cooler, the 163 dragon in turn did not?

My bad... Brain lapse... 155's did... Like in my list

My Holz Drop is in full progress now. Question for you on pushing the drivers over. Were you able to push all three at the same time? Did you rig up some spacers to put between the involute drivers and the center extro one. Thanks.

I wish i could help you more on that one. I got my dealer to press them over as i dont have a press available to me. But how i would do it is mark where each driver should end up. And press them over one by one. With a press it would really not be a big deal.

Finally got my sled back together over the weekend. A question for you or anybody else that has done a Holz drop kit. After tensioning the track I was double ckecking the track edge clearance at the front of the tunnel, where the drive shaft goes through the tunnel sides. The clearance on the chaincase side is basically zero. Against the new aluminum chaincase guard. Have about a 1/4" on the other side. I was very careful when pushing the drives over the required 0.080". Looks like I will have to push the drivers back to the left to their original position. I did not forget to put the spacer washer on the splined/chaincase side of the driveshaft either. What did your clearance look like on your track/tunnel? I can post some pics if you want. Thanks....

I had the same problem... Replied to your PM as to what I did.

sweet write up man iam going with a whole billet chaincase soon as i get back home should be a little easier. But you were talking about how close your rails were to the drivers well i moved my suspension back an inch and it helped a ton with clearence and its sorta a poor mans way to help the aproach angle like they use to do in the old edge chassis.

Thank Dart. I saw that billet chain case option later on as well. Looks like it should work sweet! I'm not quite sure what you mean? Clearance between the drivers and rails is no issue. One clearance issue I had though was by the HRP chain case guard. The track dang near rubs on it. As well as the track to front cooler clearance is pretty tight. But no issue with the rails and drivers.

All of this is now a moot point...

HRP discontinued the IQ Drop kit shown above.

I know I am pretty bummed because I am trying to fit the ce 2.5 and I was going to use the holz kit. I have a bd turbo and what I have read the drop and roll won't work with the tunnel dump. Waiting to see if going to the 7 tooth avid driver will work for the 2.86 pitch.

FTX's drop and roll does work with the tunnel dump, its just a little tighter fit.

and it gives you a ton of clearance. this is with 8 tooth drivers and a power claw track

Thanks for the pics. I am not sure it will work on mine with the muffler though. Looks like yours is before they where do the muffler? My muffler is already nearly touching the chain case.

Nothing new coming out...

Just not enough call for for the kit since they sold out of them.

well that sucks. When did this happen? Buddy of mine bought one last month, must have just happened? That's really to bad. It's a good kit with only one flaw that I found. Shoot.

alot of people have problems with the drivers and rails meeting eachother in a bad way so some people trim the tips of there rails back an inch and round off the plastic gaurd thing on the tip of the rails gain more clearance between it and the drivers. is what i did was both trimmed the rails and moved the suspension back thats all i was suggesting.

doug that thing has like a foot of clearence between the track and the tunnel now you can ride in the summer and worry about sucking up any rocks:focus:

Interesting. That's not with the Holz kit though is it? The holz kit doesn't relocate the drivers back any. Only down. I had to trim my rails on my gen two for anti-ratchets, but this looks good.
