Figured someone would say something along those lines. Have talked about it with others and they were wondering also. Sorry if I hit a nerve.
I dont know about the situation or even your relation with Nate, but do you really feel a comment like that on a public forum is a wise decision. If Its about the dog thing.. I believe he wrote what all happened.. try searching... I think thats the story i read.. maybe not ive read alot on here.. but Next time personal questions like that are better through a PM..

I guess Nate should have just PM'd all of us instead of posting the story.
Its not touchy if he posted it, I cant remember if it was nate who wrote about the drunks and the dog, then its not a real big deal.. but if it was a different instance its not really anyones business to ask in a public situation.

It was me who posted about it and the guys dead dog. Guy just had me backed against my truck with a hand in his pocket on which I thought he was going to grab his knife and pull it on me. So I pulled my pistol on him. Not a good situation. I hope I never have to do it again. Ever. You can walk around as cocky as you want with a pistol but you know your true feelings when you pull it on someone intending to use it to its full potential. I was just as bit as scared as he was. I hope I never have to do it again, and I mean that.
On a lighter not, I have a laser grip on my pistol, comes stock on the Kimber Covert models which is what i have. When I pulled it I activated it so he had a nice red dot bouncing between his eyeballs from a few feet away. I laugh about it now
how hot that dot must have felt dancing between his eye balls.
Its not as easy as it looks on TV, ill tell you that. It makes an imprint in your brain of the situation about every detail that you will never forget.

nate, I had to do it once in my own house. I had someone slide my sliding door open and come in the house. I figured I had 3 seconds to do what I was gonna do, by then they could have the drop on me. I grabbed my pistol and pulled down on the person in my kitchen, screaming at them to lay down. the person turned around and I was a split second from dropping the trigger when a familiar voice called out to my barking dog......it was a freind who had had a fight with her boy friend and just wanted to borrow our phone.....I almost dropped her.

When you dress in camo and wear an american flag patch on your right sleeve and carry a military issued M16 everyday for 4 years there isnt much to get.
Ask anyone, anyone whos served in the military and has taken a life, or has aimed a weapon intended to, its a subject not worth talking about, but best to just be forgotten.
As a police officer I actually understand quite well. Just wondering where this thread is going is all.

THis is the USA. You have a right.....no, you have an obligation, a duty, to protect yourself and your family. When I read about anti gun rights wanting to take away this right I want to just PUKE! If your life in threatened, and you have a weapon, it is your duty to use it.
I just got my wife a handgun. She has never shot a gun at all. So I showed her how to hold and shoot it. I says..."If any part of them crosses the threashold, let em have it, you have a right, a duty, an obligation, to protect my children.
Too much of this debate going on. Maybe we need to ceceed from the union and make our own rules, the reat of the US is going down a dark path, starting with California.
Am I making any sense?
