Help me find a good sled by next weds PLEASE!!

I don't know Andy but Bill and Brett are great guys. I highly doubt they would have any service records if it was a trade in and I bet the sales crew are not aware of "all" the damages on their used inventory.

A lot of sales people will start to be a prick when they know they have a buyer who is gonna give them a hard time or start beating them up. I'm not saying that is what you were doing but I know that is what can happen.

Good luck, sorry i can't help. I'm sure xtreme has something that can fit your needs. They always seem to have a large used inventory.

I checked Xtreme's used inventory and they don't have anything available. Try checking Planet Powersports in Steamboat or PowerWorld in Granby.

If either of these dealers has a used sled I can hook you up with a mechanic at Xtreme to set up your clutching and setup done right.

PowerWorld in Granby

I know a guy who has a 05 rt 1000 with 1350 miles on it. Not sure if he wants to sell it but I will stop by and ask him today. Its just an extra sled that is sitting there. He has talked about selling it on and off but never really has been motivated to sell it.

Maybe an interested buyer would change that?

I'll get back to you tonight if you are interested...

Buy from Brent at Vickery, great guy, and an AWESOME sledder. Probably helps that he's always got the latest and greatest Doo on the market ;).

Anyways, I'm surprised you had a bad experience with Vickery, everytime I've gone in there they've always been helpful and awesome to deal with.

Please contact me. I may have the machine you are looking for. It is a 2006 159 inch. The machine is still under warranty. 970-396-2301 or 970-339-2442. We live in Greeley. We could probably bring the machine to Kremmling or Walden if it would be helpful. Vern

I'm sorry but I have to call Bulls#$t here.... I've been a customer of Vickery for the last 10 years, bought 6 bikes, 3 sleds,1 ATV, and one Rhino. I have never had anything but excellent service from EVERY department. Brent Miller is one of the best, and I've known Bill and Chuck for just as long so when I read that "they" mislead you on damage I don't buy it... I also went in and looked at the sled and I'm sorry to say but scratches in the plastic are normal and aren't considered damage, especially major.

I could be lying though right... here's my story...

10 years ago I was looking for a bike, I had a budget and called every dealer in town. Vickery was the ONLY dealer that said not to come in. In short, I wasted my day visiting the other dealers that lied to me. On the way home I dropped by Vickery, it was a slow day, I spoke to a sales guy, told him my budget, he confirmed that there was nothing and then took the next 90 minutes to educate me on what I was looking for, the differences, etc. Not once did he try to "sell" me. A few days later I went back and bought a bike a few hundred over budget.

Over the next month I had some issues, kept in contact with them, they checked the bike out that day, offered to ride with me, and ended up offering to take the bike back and get me something else... and the sales guy was Brent Miller. That's also why I know Bill and Chuck.

So does Vickery have one bad apple... maybe, maybe he had a bad day, or maybe he's not a sled guy. Bash a store, it's reputation, and staff that have always been fair and honest with me and everyone I know.... uh uh, not going to fly.

No offense but if you have so many "conditions" you should grab whatever you find that meets your standards because on here you seem slightly unreasonable which would fit the information I've gotten. Oh, I should also add that the sled you were looking at has a lot of after market extras... so there's some proof that I did see it.

I don't think your spell check is working.

yep, definately broken.

Funny, Vickery is the only place in denver that I would ever reccomend to someone, maybe felker, but I've seen some hokey crap from them as well on the service side like $500 port jobs where you can't distinguish from a stock cylinder. Don't even get me started with all the friends I have had to listen to venting about the MORONS at Xtreme, they're useless turds.

If you want HONEST folks, you're not going to be happier with anyone else, down there anyway.

Power world is a great dealer to work with, not big on mods, but they won't try to sell you a bunch of crap & claim it works either, just good honest people. I've bought sleds from a few places in the last few years & for the next few years it'll be powerworld just because of service. btw, they had a few used revs on the lot not too long ago.

I have been quiet long enough...First off I never mentioned Bill or Chuck, I dealt with Brent who was helpful and then Andy took over. Andy told me the sled had Electric Start it did not, he said there was no body damage...Go open the hood its missing clips, and the inside lower left is jb welded back together. Then get a tape measure and look at the A arms...One is pushed forward coincidentally on the same side with the plastic damage....I dont have to prove myself the sled was not a once in a lifetime deal, most people know that sled isnt an easy sell...Heck ck out intermountainmarine.com they are in idaho and can get me 3 here for the same price or better. I gave the local boys a shot they dropped the ball, I left Bill a message he never called...

Scratches in the plactic??? DID YOU EVEN LOOK AT THE LEFT SIDE FRONT??? I highly doubt it or you have some personal stake in this; dont BS and preach to me about your experience history and etc. Congrats to you on your good experience..I spend my summers rebuilding wrecked bikes and have done a few sleds over the years as well. I know what I am looking at in a frame and potential damage, if a dealership is UNWILLING to proivde me a service history WHEN THEY ARE A DOO DEALER, then what flags would that send up for you. Most know that these sleds needed extensive updates, I was told it had a new computer but was not willingly shown any records. They refused to fax them when I wanted them over the phone and refused to give them to me at the shop. I came expecting to buy it. I wanted to know if they had updated the air intake since these things eat cranks due to belt dust, was told he didnt know, I then asked if he had or could get compression numbers and was told this sled has been gone through...But yet again no service record...

What I am looking for is not unreasonable infact I think I have a deal sealed today we shall see.

Aftermarket extras ya its loaded...Skis a can and a riser? Someone break out the party hats...This thing will be amazing, hell they should sell it for 8k then.

Give me a break...

Lol... yep, you're the expert. I mean gee... for everything you're asking for the damn thing should be new too. Let's take a look...

Something rider froward 800cc or bigger preferred; NOTHING under 700

not a Polaris

As for the vector, I just think that sled is over weight and underpowered

will pass on the M7

stay around 4500

What else.... you want the service records, verify the compression for you, verify the pods, blah blah blah.... Personally I'm glad I don't have a personal stake in this because I would have laughed you right out of the store.

I had a deal set on an identical 05 with all updates and 278 yes 278 miles for 4685 shipped to me from Idaho with a cover. Only difference was that one didnt have an aftermarket can.

Uh, huh... sure you did. I have two words for you...

BUY NEW

In any case, you're a troll trying to cause trouble and not trying to support the local economy. You've heard from countless people here about the quality of that shop and not just me. Give someone else your business and if Vickery doesn't thank you for it then I will because I won't have to listen to you when I'm in there shopping.

Are you a slow? I explained my situation and what happened to me. If you have no personal stake in this why are you still talking...So I am lying about the deal in Idaho? Dont beleive me call Greg at intermountain marine in Idaho, he can verify the other sled deal, but then again proof and reason dont seem to get into the brick situated 3' above your *** so heres a link to the sled.

http://www.intermountainmarine.com/new_vehicle_detail.asp?sid=03277094X12K29K2008J5I51I06JPMQ4168R0&veh=12107&pov=1034815

I gave them a chance, and yes I am being picky its my money there are revs in that price range there are m8's there are rx1's there are all sorts of potentials. I was looking to get a summit 1000. I have located one through a member here with less miles identical aftermarket parts and a brand new factory cover for less money.

Personally I would think that any shop that supposedly "thoroughly went thorugh" the sled should be able to verify if the intakes were changed as well as compression and be able to pull the service record from their system which to the best of my knowledge is linked with doo dealers all across the country and vin specific just like most auto dealers. Hell; they knew the computer was changed and they said they didnt do it, so obviously they had access to the service records, why wouldnt you supply this to an interested party. Had they supplied them I may never have even noticed the A-arm I was ready to pay on the basis of an even semi clean record but to me an unwillingness to do any assisting in the sale shows that someone had a reason for not wanting to show the info or just couldnt be bothered, no sweat Ill pas went with the wife to get some sushi and continued my search. I only granted further info on people asking me questions.

Bottom line it wasnt what they portrayed it to be, and they were unwilling to do some simple verifications to assure the sale. And it was a sale lost.

Oh btw you can verify with Brent that my exact statment was I would rather give the money to the local boys, but then again your a troll and prob linked in some way shape or form to the store.

Ditto's on Vickery - they are a great people. Before you decided to flame them on the internet, you should have spoke to Bill or Chuck.

....and what history are you looking for, if it was in a Flood? There's no such thing as SledFax.

I'll tell ya what you'll find....the sled had the throttle tapped wide open, going through the powder for a winter or two and hit a rock early in the season, bent the trailing arm or A-arm. If its an 800 Polaris, it may be in need of a main PTO bearing update if it has 2,500 miles on it, for Ski Doo - the cranks......and the list goes on.

If you're not lucky enough to find one with only a couple hundred miles on it from some wannabee that thought he would like snowmobiling, or is going through a divorce, then the above my friend will be the story of every used sled you buy in Colorado.

Beyond that, what you want to then look for is wrench marks on the head/cylinder nuts....your sign that the motor has been worked on, then, the question is warranted, was it maitenance or repair, and with a newer sled, it's likely a repair.

I found a sled done deal picking it up tomorrow. As for Igotgas no there is a history on whether or not the CRITICAL UPDATES were taken care of perhaps some simple research on this particular thread would shed some light...That stated I have a sled with those records now less mileage in better condition with a cover for less money...Oh ya its newer too..If Bill wanted to fix this he had Saturday as well as today to call me, I left a detailed message with number, no call. Besides the fact it would have changed nothing in that the sled was not in the condition I wanted anyway. Its an ended issue let it go, I am allowed my opinion and allowed to tell my side of what happened. Maybe Brent and everyone else are great I beleive its highly possible but my experience sucked nuts and thus I came here looking for a sled.

Thanks to all of those you that tried to help and to tudizzle for getting me set up for this. I owe ya a beer...if it lasts the weekend lol.

Thanks guys!
