Headed up to ride the new XM.

I am very curious to see how the flexible flyer rear end and track work on super steep sidehills in firm spring snow. Seems like it might wash kinda easy with the track edge flexing so much but whos knows until you try it.

14 lbs. and belt drive coupled with the new running boards, lower A arms, rear arm, new seat and carbon fiber frame members is worth a heck of a lot IMHO. I had an 11 Pro and I loved it. The 2013 is going to be much better. The horsepower argument just doesn't hold water. Do the math yourself. The Pro and the Doo are nearly identical in a lbs. per horsepower comparison. The Pro has better clutching and when you add in the decreased rolling resistance that the belt drive brings, that means more power will get to the track. I fully expect that the Snowest comparison of these two sleds will show the 13 Pro to be a better sled than the XM.

Regarding reliability, several of my friends switched to Revs and then XPs due to Polaris not having a very good sled for several years (RMK 900, Dragons). Everyone of them broke the Doos multiple times including a broken crank at the primary clutch. I towed them out several times including a nasty all day retrieve requiring pulley ropes and much more. When their Doos were getting fixed, they rode my son's 07 RMK 600 or they did not ride at all. In all of that time, I was down for a couple of weeks when Polaris did the top end recall on the 08 Dragons. That was it for any major sled related breakdowns. I know that many people have not had as much luck with their Polaris sleds as I have. I can't explain that other than I was lucky.

I am headed up today to ride the new Ski Doo XM. Bringing my 2012 Pro along to compare it to on the same exact conditions. Will post my ride report tonight or tomorrow.

Reports I got from my dealer was that they had the set up wrong, not pulling above 74 ish..

Just a bit of input, don't let a bad set up skew the results.
The Premier guys in Yakima will have it next weekend (3/9, 10, 11) up in the Tampico area. I think they have all the slots filled, but you might catch them on the snow and have a look.

Have a great ride!

First thing, thanks Matte!! Just to let ya know up front my last 10 sleds were Doo's and all my buddies still ride them, 08 and 09's That being said I love my new 12 Pro! I still only have 145 miles on it because of lack of snow:face-icon-small-fro I have made 2 trips to the Bighorns now one was last weekend. They had great snow! Just got another 2 foot of fresh when we got there, hands down my Pro out shines my old 09 which one of my buddies own's now, and it also climbs way better also( This is what I seen in my own eyes when we rode) I also let all 3 of my buddies ride it, one of them flipped it on its side the 2nd turn he did and we all LMAO All of them couldnt beleive how it turned. The next day we met up with more people we know and one had a brand new Doo 154 SP, this thing was a rocket ship compared to my Pro( still dont know if my chip is burnt up yet) We were in tree's and sidehilling and just going straight up hills also, his sled had 200 miles on it. We switched for awhile, I got to give it the power nod:face-icon-small-con It made mine look sick!( I thought mine was rockin!) It layed over way better than my old 09 XP and I could turn on a dime just like my Pro! When we stopped all he said was mine didnt have enough power, and it was to hard to lay over???? Ok this blew me away!! But it is one mans opinion, and this guy has never rode a Pro also. All this being said, I still love my Pro and I hope the chip opens up soon, I will have this sled for another 3 years at least, unless a tree jumps infront of me:face-icon-small-dis I am not brand loyal either, right now I think the Pro is built better and I have a great dealer thats close. Years back I said I would never have anything but a Yamaha, and here we are now. The new XM could be a hit, and if it is, it will drive all the makers to step it up again!! Also I did have a beaver tail Doo and it sucked!!
