HAYDAYS...OBSERVATIONS AND COMMENTS FROM OUR READERS.

I could certainly see you opening this up Friday Afternoon as well.

What did surprise me was the HUGE difference in traffic between Saturday and Sunday.

A lot of the difference in crowd can be attributed to the swap. Everyone who is going there looking for parts will be there on Saturday so they have the best chance of finding what they need for parts before the swap gets too picked over. Most people, myself included walk the swap Saturday morning and visit the rest of the show after they've seen the whole swap.

Cooming from a guy who's never been to HD before, how hard is it to get accomodations? Been thinking about going for a few years now and next year might be the one.

I can't even grasp at how much work the Sno Barons put into putting this event on each year.

Well i called everywhere in a 50 mile radius 2 months before and EVERYTHING was sold out. Luckily i was able to put my name on a list and got in a motel last minute.

So to make it easy id book it soon for next year.

Ya, that was pretty evident from talking to people
The SWAP is what really draws in the massive crowds.
And while I only walked the swap for an hour or so, its just STAGGERING how much stuff there is down there!

If you book a room right now for next year, its probably a breeze.
We had to commute in about 35 minutes each way from the nearest hotel we could find.

BOOK EARLY

It seems like the internet ruied the deals in the swap area, everything was at or close to retail. You can get better deals on stuff through the forum of the brand of your choice even after shipping costs.

That may be changing....

As a vendor, I HIGHLY recommend against going to a 3 day show. No matter how many days the show is, the overwhelming majority will still come on the main day (saturday). Even as a two day show, Hay Days is much slower on Sunday. It's perfect as a two day show.

But overall the show rocked...Hay Days is THE premiere show of the dozen or so we do. Nice work HD crew!

Like others said plan early for your hotel.

And if you have problems finding a place you have my e-mail. Drop me a message and we can work something out.
