Has anyone fully modded a 08 freestlye or tundra?

I modded a freestyle, put a 800ho powertek in it. I used the wiring harness out of a rev,the carbs, pipe, dpm, the rear skid, 151x16x2.25 track, 08 summit skis.I even used the front and rear heatexchangers. it went together like it was ment to be,funnest sled i have ever road ( it rocks ) Took me about 7 nights in the garage to biuld it.

This would happen to be Brent Sedor from Winfield would it who build "Freak" style with a CR Racing tunnel, 151 and the 800HO. Sounds way to familiar.

This sled:

Summitseeker many questions come to mind....well here goes, do you know final weight on this sled? Was it an incredible sled to ride? Does cr racing make tunnels for this chassis sled, or was it custom? Not a bad pic, thanks for the show and tell!!

funny that looks alot like crueheads ride.I seen crueheads freestyle in action the weekend bofore christmas and was very impressed.I wonder who built theirs first.by the way it outclimbed my 154x.

Hey Cliff your right it does look alot like mine (put a orange hood on it and a polished tunnel and ya pretty much got it)You said you saw me-where at?? O ya I built mine the week bofore Maylong weekend 2007. May long was it's first ride....

crue i meet up with your gang in blue river b.c that weekend in parberry
you out climbed me about four times in a row on the big hill that you told our group not to park at the bottom of cause it could slide. i was the guy you gave your extra water bottle to.

Ya I remember that. You guys all seemed to be a good group of guys.Good snow that weekend eh!!!!!! We'll have to hook up again sometime for a ride.
I just dropped in a new mill in the freestyle but not really telling what it is until I spank a couple of buddies first. The cr racing tunnel looks awsome on that other freestyle in the pic-nice job.I also noticed it looks like it's got piggyback shocks in the front.I'm also curious on the weight of that sled.

we are always up for a trip to the hills.not telling what you put for a engine must be something special.your right the snow was good and deep that weekend have you gone since then and did you ride your freestyle again.

Ya the mill is a secret from a couple of guys for now.I have been on a couple more trips since then, and have hit fresh ,deep snow everytime. And no I didn't ride the freestyle the last time I went I was waiting for the motor to be ready for it. I also thought it would be a good idea to put some miles on my 163x!!! gotta go man it's late and work comes early catch ya later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
O ya looks like the rear skid in the pic is the stock sc4 with rail extensions...

Hey Cliffhanger just wondering how you figured out that my handle on this site was Cruehead, or when you seen the freestyle thing did you go out on a limb.

cruehead sorry if i caught you off gaurd hope you don't think i'm stalking you i heard your buddy rusty call you that and put two together i should have told you that.

925tundra I'm going for a ride tommorrow to get a few miles on the new powerplant bofore the next mountain trip.I'll get some pictures of the freestyle and get em on here for ya!!!!!!When you decide to go ahead with your project I'll give and get you any info that you may need.don't think about doing this just do it you won't regret it...

Thanks cliff for letting me know that I was thinking you were queer or somthing.Ya your right Rusty calls me Cruehead alot including that day. Apollagy accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cruehead-Not thinking anymore. Wheels have been going for a couple of weeks. I don't get much time to work on it though. Work/kids!! But I have done a few things. Prepped chassis for power plant. ect. ect.

Been thinking of something else new that I have never seen. I was wondering if anyone has ever made the exhaust come out in front of the track. My theory in this is to preheat the snow before running it over with the track. Traction is always better on wet snow. I know it would not have enough heat to actually melt the snow out from under you, but it might be enough to make a difference. I don't know maybe it wouldn't work. A buddy of mine asked me this and I told him it was the corniest mod I had ever heard of until I was looking at sleds and went for a few more rides.

Right on 925 can't wait to see what ideas you may have.If guys know how easy It was to build a reliable mod then we'll probable see more of them. Can't wait to ride it tommorrow(taking my 163x and my freestyle out and I rather ride the freestyle, and my 163x is an awsome sled, but the freestyle is alot more fun)

Cruehead-Not asking what bore you installed in the freestyle, just wondering what final weight is now with a larger motor? Ya know, ya could pm me with your secret recipe!! I'm not holding back. I am installing a PSI 925cc in a tundra. No front cooler, no rear cooler. 3/4 length U cooler. Like I originally said, I want my eyes to bleed when I grab a hand full! I have already fixed the headlight assy. Weighs to much to leave on. I quess I would have to agree about making a mod sled that is going to be reliable. Still, I have not figured out why other people have not done this yet. Take the lightest sled on the market and do some minor work to it. Come up with a serious, reliable mountain sled that will kick the pants off most other sleds.

Crue- What do you think about my exhaust idea? I will have to install stingers before I bolt motor in if I want to do this. Not really stingers though. More like straight pipes. I have looked and it is possible to cut and rivet straight pipes to bulkhead just in front of where the front cooler would be. Have not done it yet, still thinking. I think if nothing else it would help out with the noise. Maybe I would not have to wear ear plugs!!

I'm not sure about the exhaust. I think the idea is cool, yet their is pros and cons to doing this (exhaust restriction do to snow plugging-maybe, ice build up in front of tunnel from heat, but I agree it would help cut the sound down.So I'm not sure,I guess time will tell!!!!!
