Has anyone fully modded a 08 freestlye or tundra?

swe-doo, it has crossed my mind to go with a belt drive to loose more wight. But as of right now my figures are on the stock chaincase that is in the tundra. For some reason BRP put way too serious chaincase in the tundra for a 300 fan engine. It is the same chaincase that the '06 rev platform had in it. Solid shafts. From the sounds of the forums, I would almost say it might be better to have solid shafts that to have the new hydra-form shafts that the xp's have in them. But, to answer your question the chaincase would definitely have enough strength to handle a little more than 200 hp. It would also depend on what kind of gearing I put in it.

So your maybe lowering the gearing, that will put more stress to the chain.
How wide(plates/links) is that tundra chain?

Motley--There are some pics on one of my other threads. It does not belong to me though. It was posted by someone else. It is a 550 fan with custom pipe and other trick stuff to boot. Check it out, it is a sweet looking sled. It was done up by specialty sleds.

swe--I'm not to worried about the chaincase. The 6&8 revs handled the power with no problem. Also I would definitely have to gear up. Stock gears in tundra are 19/45. This is a good gear set up to pull a house with a 300 fan. But good luck tring to get her over 50 mph!!

925tundra I think 420 is possible I'm running the stock seat (heavy-after market alot lighter) and the rear skid out of a xp is 8 pounds lighter than my skid. I used the stock suspension ( freestyle park ) and stock plastic, defintly more weight to be lost. I thought about it and I'm going to install a xp rear skid and a 163 powdermax track. You can get 2.86 pitch drivers to fit the old shafts ( rev shafts ) I think you are on the right track......

pics soon ( gotta get one of my kids to show me how to get them on here )

hey crue, not a big deal about pics, I'm not to good on here either! Still would like to see pics though. I am glad that some one thinks this sled could make the 400-420 lb range. The seat really is pretty light to begin with. Probably not going to gain much 1-2 lbs. in going to an after market seat. If you can find one. The other option is to make one. Don't know if you have experience in this area. The other thing is that the plastics would have to come off for the big bore. Cooler is better!! I previously had an '06 600 sdi summit 144. I did some mods that ended up very impressive. It would out climb my buddies '06 1000 sdi 162. Not to say it was a piece. The 1000 rocked hard. It had been set up previously to me purchasing my 600. One of the best mods I made on the 6 was a ram air clutch cooling where the stock outer air box was. This worked very good. Clutches stayed barely warm at all times. Made it to where you could pound a hill all day. This is where I came up with the ram air idea for the mod tundra.

Never rode the freestyle this weekend ( It's getting a new heart!!! ) rode my 163x and tried out some new mods-it rocks hard.... Sent the freestyle computer in to the race dept for a flash for more hp also. A buddy of mine buillt a tundra mod and got a lightweight seat made 4.5 pounds lighter than stock. I know that i can make 20 more pounds dissappear off this sled easily......

Built one for my dad. Made 80hp out of the 550 on a very stingy dyno. Split Second engine work and NPP can for +20hp on 91 octane. Runs real well.

A few pics. Ended up coating the pipe. The can works wicked for cooking all sorts of goodies. When done it had on over center hasp that locks the lid.

Portgrinder that looks preety good. The cubbie cooker was an awsome idea-must have guys following you around trying to figure out what kind of oil ya burn......

Still trying to decide on chaincase or belt drive. Does anyone currently run a belt drive on their sled? If so, I would like to hear comments. I've been working on ram air to clutches and intake. Intake is coming along nicely. It was almost like it was meant to be. Took stock headlight assy. out and built ram out of carbon that is exact same demension as stock headlight assy. Bolted on nicely. Put 2 4 inch flow rites up front where lights would have been to keep powder out. Funnels come out just above where intake on carbs will be. Looks to be a very good mod. Not sure what to do for lights now. Ram panels are still in the makes.
