Guidoxpress 05 RMK 900 Build!

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
ok...a little update on the 05 900...its been sadly neglected since i have been working on the 06 900

sold my stock 900 engine, and some other stuff i had laying around and scored a Carls Cycle 975 engine with a Torque Master III crankshaft from a fellow snowester!!!
I might send the weisco pistons in to Swains Tech Coating for their dome and sirt coating for longevity and overal strength to the piston itself...they are cheap to get coated...but i need to discuss this with Indydan as he is the one who originally build this motor, then i will decide from there..

I sold my stock 166 Rails and MMP freedom axle, and picked up some Ice Age 166 Tipped rails cut for a staright axle and 9" wheels...waiting for them to show up so i can get them painted in BLACK with POR-15 ;) and installed

I am working with Seth at Trail Tank on installing the 15.5 gallon trail tank to the 05, but spoke with MH on this, and apparently he has done this mod before :( so i am not the first...lol...but...i am doing it anyways, lol...i am either going to get some fuel line extensions and run the 08-10 Dragon CFI pump or move the ECU and run the stock pump (the front of the trail tank is shaped different and the pump would hit the ECU...so i have some playing to do with this...but wont be too big of an issue..

I have the newer style IQ center console already...so as you can see, the contour of the console fits the tank PERFECT...if i had the original console there would be some funky gaps bewteen them..so i lucked out on this already...other then that, the top of the tank sits perfect on the right side and the center chassis hoop holds the tank down perfect..so a little fabed up bracket for the PTO side of the tank and drill some holes in the rear and its almost a perfect fit so far...
also need a newer 08-10 dragon seat still..

i have a FIXED Timersled steering post to install yet as well that i have been sitting on for a while...

i had a Billet front crossmember already that was custom made to fit the Compfusion motor mounts, had another build for my 06 900 as well... ;)

ill post some more pics when i get it close to done..if that ever happens...seems like i have too much to do, and no time or money...weird...LOL!!

Sounds like you got way too much going on, just send me the built 975 and I will make sure it gets some good use. (If I ever make it outta here)

thanks for the offer...ill send the 975 to your FPO, lol.

when you getting outta there bro....im flagged to go back to iraq for #4 tour in May 2011 for 6mths...will see i guess....just stay there and we'll hang, lol.

let me know if you need a care package of sled parts and childrens laughter

I'm almost at 30 day mark till I gtfo, thankfully. I even ordered a few things for the sled today, a skinz bumper and I'm trying to get some track shocks for the rear outta the classifieds. I can't justify buying the timbersled rear set-up I want..... Might lift the silverado instead.

Man it will be good to be home, praying for Dec 4th. Sad to hear you're going over though.

Keith Curtis has some fox skid shocks for sale in the swap meet. I think he is like racer711 or something on hear.

well,

sent the 975 top end to indydan...the piston to cylinder clearence seemed a little tight, so hopefully he covers it under warranty.

he has 2 of my clutches to work on as well.

i put in some info to him on the swains tech coatings...so if he thinks i should do it now before he messes with it, i will have it done. will post back the details on that.

got an 09 dragon pump installed in the trail tank, got a hold down bracket from seth at trail tanks to try out..

when i get the tank mounted down, i will work on the fuel line issues (the pump is farther back that stock, so might need to add a few inches of line...not sure if i can pull the slack from OEM lines.

also got a seat for the tank to use..

thinking about getting some of the foam for the tank..for anti-sloshing...???

got an email from Indydan today....

my 05 975 top end is being shipped back to me in the morning!! IM STOKED...

so when i get back from Panama City in just over a week, i will start assembling the motor and get this hog put together...wont be done by Cooke trip mid feb im sure...but for sure end of the month, wanna bring it to the 900 Revy ride for sure...but need some miles on her before ;)

the trail tank is going in nicely...got a hold down bracket bolted up to keep pressure on the tank on the PTO side since its not shaped like the 900 tank....need to extend the fuel lines which isnt a big deal...

also working on putting a fuel gauge setup in the console so i can keep an eye on the psi of the dragon pump, along with koso etgs.

still need to install..

--ice age rails/skid (wont powder coat rails, no money and not much time)
--finish trail tank install
--got a seat from the 2011 Snowest Pro Build sled..THANK YOU!!
--install 43" zbroz a-arms/18" zero pro shocks
--track/ski alignment
--tried to install the fixed timbersled steering post last night, but apparently its bent and wont line up to the rider select delete...(oh well)
--R&R front nose/pto fender plastic.side panel (been sitting in the garage since last spring)
--install front nise vents from mountainfit hoods

only thing i wish i would have done this summer is got some AVID drivers and anti-stab kit...didnt have the time or money from my other money pit 900 build.

so....as always...im buried up to my teeth with work...

Now that your back in MT from your Florida vacation get your butt off the computer :couch2: and go finish that thing so you can get it out in the snow.

Mine will be done by Wednesday unfortunately I won't be able to run it in snow till March.

if i have to take the wifes sled...ill do it, lol.

got the 975 top end back from Indydan last week...so can start messing with this bad boy now ;)

Are you going to bring the engine with you in a box and reinstall it in her sled in BiggDawgs trailer? Last I checked it was in more pieces than yours is.:face-icon-small-sho

LOL

i could do that, Bruce has all the tools to do it for sure, lol.

working on her sled always goes together faster then mine, thats why hers is always last ;)
