I could be a weatherman. They are never right but make more money

We used to stomp the chit out of West grand in football. You didnt go to Middle Park with me (nobody named Ralph) so you must have been West Grand right?

Not a footballer so that doesn't hurt my feelings. While you were working stomping the Mustangs I was busy making the Panther cheerleaders dirty. Who won that one?

Yes, West Grand 1992

There was one or two cute ones. One was named Katie, she was a year behind me and the other I can't remember. She was darker skinned and had long black hair. Lived up on the hill behind Silvercreek.

Since all you do is complain about your wife/life...I'm guessing not you?

Did I complain about my wife here? Don't you have something better to do than chase my posts and be a judgemental assh*le? For Christ's sake, just a little local and friendly banter and you come with your self righteous attitude. F*ck, that get's older than me whining about my wife. In real life you seem fine but...Wow!

LOL

Just got back from riding...lots were full...trees were empty

lots of couches full too...telling everybody how bad it is...while I ride another day.

Whoopdy doo! You got to ride 4" of soft on top of 36" of sugar. Wow! That's freaking awesome.

I almost got sucked into all the negitve hype.

But then I remembered life is what you make of it. You want to sit around and complain and be disappointed by what you have...go for it.

I am a go out and take hold of life person....and rewarded for my efforts.

Yep 4" on top of 36" of sugar is exactly what I rode on....and it was one of the best days snowmobiling EVER! Just like tomorrow will be...and the next adventure after that.

You are right, kind of.

I don't enjoy minimal snow. It's like riding my dirtbike on wet clay. Just isn't fun for me. Plus I don't want to take my chances on getting hurt and having to sit out all season once the snow does get good, and it will, I hope.

There are tons of other things that I have to do. I have to rebuild a sled for a good friend, With the lack of snow we can actually ride the ATVs out back so you can go blasting Coyotes.

But in all truth, it does suck uber bad that it's a hair over 48 hours till 2012 and we aren't even close to getting 100" total snowfall.

For those of you wanting a good method of predicting the future of Grand Lake's snow storms, here's a simple rule of thumb: Watch the weather coming on to the North West Coast (Washington and Oregon). When a good size storm hits that area, Grand Lake and the Northern Rockies will usually get some good snow. However, if a good size storm hits California, then that storm almost ALWAYS stays South and goes over Southern Colorado and Arizona/New Mexico with very few exceptions. :face-icon-small-hap[/QUOTE]

So is this a better chance?

That is what it looked like early this week. The system came in blasted Idaho and sloped upward to hit Jackson and then headed due East, missing all of NOCO and SOWY. So in all actuality, La Nina did shift and hit the northwest, it just didn't dip down as far as we'd like to see.

Another thing to keep in mind here. While Dizzle's pics are nice and shows better snow, they are in fact due South almost the entire width of the State of Colorado. I was there just a little while ago and it is way better down there than it is up here. SOCO has gotten 85% more of the storms that come into Colorado. After doing a little research, WC is about 118% of average for precip and has a 39" base, at the station (Wolf Creek Summit) while the station near GL (Stillwater) is at 97% but has a 12" snow depth. A pretty vast difference.

Nobody is doubting that WC has more snow, it's a well known fact right now. So yeah, he can ride because he chooses to go to WC. But the thread is about GL, and at 12" I doubt anybody would really want to ride there. I live 35 minutes from the place and I don't want to go ride it. I know guys that live in Grand Lake and aren't riding it. Yeah, it's good enough to go break in a new motor or dial the turbo in better or tweak suspension settings but that's it. But to actually get out and ride hard, like we all like to do, it's just not ready yet. Most of my friends that have ridden up here have busted stuff. Ask Boston Racing, he sold them A-arms. Several times. I had another friend just "total" his brand new 2012 Pro Climb kitty in this snow.

So, I will sit on my couch, work in the garage or take my kids skating while I wait for the snow to get to where I like it, as will alot of people. I'm not willing to gamble my body, my sled just to scratch the itch. The snow will get better, it's just a matter of time and when that time comes, I'll still have all of my sledding cash and all of the PTO so when it gets good I can take that time off and use that money and ride so hard I cannot stand up. Like most sledders I don't have unlimited time or unlimited $$.

So, there is my "negativity" in a nutshell. But personally, I'd hate for any sledder to come out from 15+ hours away and end up wasting time, money and such for meager riding. I'll be honest here, I do love having the area that is my local favorite not tracked up by traveling riders but most guys would agree. But as fellow sledders I'm not going to lie and say it's awesome, when it's not.

So, in closing have a HAPPY and Safe New Years Weekend.:face-icon-small-coo

I have sold so many arms because of the flaw in the Zbroz design. 2 of those (SkiB and Hotrodredneck) would have bent an anvil:face-icon-small-dis)
