got gasoline in my eye!!!

What really sucks is when you are siphoning gas with a cut off piece of garden hose and you cant see the gas coming. Not only did I get a mouth full but I swallowed a fair amount. Every time a burped for two days I tasted gas.:face-icon-small-con

I have had gas and carb/brakeclean in my eyes many times. You would think I would learn from my mistakes, but I don't.

The one that really scared me was when a car battery blew up in my face. Chunks of plastic and acid in my face and eyes (F'ing Interstate batteries). I have had two of them blow up on me.

All I can say is flush, flush and flush. I now wear safety glasses more often.

I had a group 31 12V in a combine blow up in my face. The worst part of that is it happened in a guy's machine shed and all I could hear was dial tone out of my one ear for nearly a full day. That sucks.

Had the gas in the eye thing a few times. Trying to pull the fuel hose off a carb in a tight spot and it'll finally let go a whip gas in your face.

Funny, it happened to me an hour ago. Man does it hurt. I had a fuel filter with 5 inches of line on it. It got caught behind the steering post. Pulled a little harder and wamo gas in the eyes. I was all by myself in my shop and screamed like a girl. I can only compare it to when in Jr high I had a can of Copenhagen hidden in my boxers at school. Whell the lid somehow came off and burned my beanbag like wildfire. I no longer carry chew in my underwear.

make sure you run plenty of water on your eye.. i dont mean by hand, i was told to run my eye directly under the water for 15 minutes.. then, rest your eye for an hour or so.. its still gonna hurt a bit after that but, not nearly as bad..

i dont have any tips for your burnt beanbag though.. might wanna call the dr and ask them.. :D

In 1966 I was working cleaning tolulol of equipment from germany and a part fell into the bucket of tolulene and splashed into my eyes, I was alone and had to scurry blind to a sink and rinse my eyes under the water for about 10 minutes. It still hurt and within three years I had carataconas, weak cornias, and had to go to hard contacts and eventually had to get cornea transplants so make sure you get checked out. The one thing I have found to sooth the eyes for any reason is to get a bowl of lukewarm salt water and imerse your eys in for a few minutes, difficult to breathe sometimes in that position but do it several times you won't believe how it soothes the eyes.
