hey Jesse !! the gas crisis is over man ...you stop siphoning bro

Use a lighter to burn off the remaining residue.

That or...
Go outside & run around the block as many times as you possibly can without stopping. Keep running until you can't possibly continue another step.
Once you can no longer continue at all........................

wait for it........................

here it is..............................

you've ran out of gas!:D (rimshot)

Gasoline dries out the skin and membrane around your eyes and will burn like H3ll. Think about how bad your hands dry up when you are using solvents to clean parts without gloves...Same thing.

Try to keep your eyes closed for a while and let them tear up.
Better yet rinse them with vyseen (sp?) for allergy or any good eye drops.
The best would be the rinse for washing contacts.

Worse case scenario would be to try to rub a small amount of Vaseline on the outside of your eyelids BUT NOT IN YOUR EYES.

Keep them shut and back away from the keyboard for a while!.

use Neosporin ointment vaseline is a petrol base and may end up in the eye. I've had sun blindness a couple times (see spots) and was told by doc to put a small amount on eye lid close and move eye around then sleep on it

rinse with warm water since gas is an oil base. after the rinse try to keep your eye closed. No damage will be done to your eye or sight since it was not a corrosive.

or go the Dr...I mean it's just your eyes.

Now if it's not you shooting eye then stay home.

hope you can read this....kinda funny.

a few years back a buddy wanted to borrow one of my paint guns to paint his truck. I loanedit to him and only asked that he clean it well when he was done. when i picked it up it had the tip in the pot and it was full of thinner. I asked if he cleaned the nozzle out......he replied "yup", as he pointed it right into his eye......and pulled the trigger. what he did not clean was the pot vent.....it shot a pee stream of thinner right into his eye. he let out a howl that would curl your hair, it was winter and we were in his underconstruction kitchen.....no sink, so I grabbed a gallon of milk and started pouring it on his eye.......worked well. damn that was funny.

think gas burns..try brakekleen..way worse on the eyes..but as said..use lots of contact wash and flush every hour or so..will heal in 2-3 days....neosporin also helps at night ...

Yes, cleaning bike carbs I constantly get a blast in the face of the carb cleaner variety...

I found swearing and stomping helps

Makes you eyes feel gummy when it happens

Of coarse, I never wear safety glasses !

thanks for all the responses.. turns out, as i was mudderfawking the outboard i was working on and holding my eye that i thought was burning out of its socket, i lit a marlboro to try and ease the pain.. bad idea, POOF.. no more eyelashes or eyebrows but, amazingly, it did burn the petro out of my eyball and i can see fine...

no, seriously, i ran my eyeball under the kitchen sink for about 10 minutes.. felt better.. little sore this a.m. but all in all i think its gonna be ok..

I have had gas and carb/brakeclean in my eyes many times. You would think I would learn from my mistakes, but I don't.

The one that really scared me was when a car battery blew up in my face. Chunks of plastic and acid in my face and eyes (F'ing Interstate batteries). I have had two of them blow up on me.

All I can say is flush, flush and flush. I now wear safety glasses more often.
