Golden conditions 09/10

Anyone been into Gorman or over into Lang yet? Should be DEEP!

We were in Saturday and yesterday...great snow for early season. Nothing slid yet. Bad viz Sat, we stayed down in the trees, very deep...nice! Sunny yesterday, went into Holt but not into Lang. Snow up top was windblown and harder, styrofoamy -but lots of it. Pretty firm.
Trail not groomed yet.

Thanks guys, Spent most of out time in the trees above the lake in Lang. Deep and not a track! The open stuff up high was all wind-blown and hard. The trees below were a blast! Awesome day!!!

Be SUPER careful on the Gorman Road!! Nothing but ice on the ride down at days end. NOT JOKING!
Be very careful. A friend had a close call with jack knifed trailer today and JUST stopped in time before going over the edge.
Parking is at the first parking lot. NO need to drive any further.

We went to Gorman on Sunday, we were finally good to be able to see, as the sun was out in full force. The snow was hard in places and soft in others. Once again it seemed like we had the whole area to ourselves.
We made our way over to Holt and the entire area was basically untracked. The snow was pretty set up so we could climb like hero's. The wind has make some sweet "waves" that you can lauch off of, or up, it was nice not only to climb, but get some big air as well.
Also I had my first day with the Dynamo joe clutch on my sled. All I can say is wow........................................

Was at silent pass on blue sky Sunday with my new(Menace's old sled) turbo apex. "Stewd" took me out for a awesome day of riding. Thanks buddy!:beer;
Never going back to a smoker again after feeling the boost!
Need more snow out there but a great first ride this year.

Looking to ride Saturday at Silent Pass. Just wondering what conditions are like up there, and if they are grooming the trail in yet. Might do a half day at quartz on sunday. Anything fresh up there in the past week?

Grooming confirmed. Ride in/out was great. Visibility was better than expected Saturday and it was cool but not too bad. Maybe 40 sleds in. Could still see tracks I made two weeks ago under maybe 10cm of light stuff and people bouncing off rocks everywhere especially in the back bowl. Need more snow.

hows things looking out there, thinking on coming up for the weekend, is it worth it? also would anyone happen to be riding silent pass saturday or sunday that woulent mind showing 3 out of towners around?

just got back from a ride at silent today. awasome is the only word to describe it. 1ft of fresh at the parking lot, 2 ft of fresh before the trees, and 3-4 after you go over the waterfall. no complaint. only 1 other truck up there today, plenty of pow left.

temp

thinking of driving out to quartz tomorrow from calgary. suppose to rain in golden tomorrow though, whats the magic temperature in town that it is still snowing up top?:confused:

sun was shining up top at quartz most of the day lots of untouched snow still, no new snow, some fog rolled in at the end of the day near the parking lot. last i heard for weather, 6 degrees and rain, i opted to come home after my ride today
