The forester, rocky point are popular areas and may even get to higher elevation than areas around golden. the land in orange is getting into jumbo glacier area and has been closed off for awhile. usual land use dispute stuff. as for the stuff thats neither green or orange ..it's prob to steep/dangerous or not worth the logging road ride in

i'd say grab some friends and check out rocky point or forester and let us know how it is

Just did laps shuttling some people up Gorman... about a foot at the upper parking lot, 3+ at the lake...

Heading up Quartz tomorrow if anyone wants to come otherwise have fun out there

question

i heard for a trip to Revy / golden area that we should be waiting until the end of March or beginning of April. it was said the weather in the early season is really bad, can't really ride when it's snowing that much ? what are you thoughts on that? i have been in cooke when it was pretty bad /shrug

innocent question though ,, any validity to it ?

Im sure the best of us have been out on a day where you had to stay put for a little bit before you ride aroudn or try to get any where significant, but to say not to ride until spring time is a joke.... probably some local telling you to stay away till then so there's more for him haha.

Once there is snow out in these areas, give'r s*** like the rest.

WTF???You kidding? We start riding Golden in November and quit in May, June if possible...riding min once per week....you wait until Spring you miss all the best riding!!!!
Weather can be bad anytime, sure if it's snowing you can have bad viz in any month, but we've had our best riding in Dec/Jan/Feb, hands down!!!
Guess it depends what kind of riding you're after...less skilled riders like spring conditions cuz you can get around everywhere with ease and they don't usually have the ability to get around in the deep stuff :D

Hey guys, snowed all week again! This weekend is gonna be sick! Word on the street is that the groomer is going to be hitting Quartz Creek Trail this weekend too! So make sure you stop and pay at the gate if it happens. The video earlier in this thread was last weekend! It's been snowing EVERYDAY since!
YEEEHAAAAAAH

most of the tracks from this past weekend were already filled in at quartz... Trail in got rough on the second half and there's still lots of rocks lurking in the alpine. Tons of great snow in the trees though...

haha hey dave that was on the way up. sled was wrecked, helmet i just bought that morning was trashed before i even had a chance to wear it. and most importantly ITS A CHEVY!! haha

Quartz Nov 12, 2009

Rode today
Skies great
Snow settled but makes a real good base, can go most places, watch for the jumping beans, saw a couple of guys pound a hill till the rocks showed through and there was definite carnage and rachet straps

The snow up top good, nice drifts, the trees near the cabin need more but for early season much better than recent years
I think we cut first tracks down Poopstain (Poostang) and it was real nice!!!
At Revy now!!!
Enjoy

Looking for a place to go and do some tuning on a turbo apex , coming from Red Deer , so Golden would be closer then Revey , was at Gorman once , from what i rememeber if the lake is frozen over and has snow cover that this area would be good for tuning .
Has anyone been up there yet and if so , were did you unload at , have inclosed trailer.
Thanks
