Golden conditions 09/10

Nice to see the avy tips at the beginning. Lots of the vids going around right now are showing some not so great avy judgement.

Snow at quartz was great this weekend for early season riding, by the end of day sunday it was definately getting a little tracked out. It was a busy place this weekend. There was still some fresh stuff up on top, out of reach of the stock sleds which made for a great day. But they are going to need some more fresh. Just my 2cnts though.

Our group rode pow till dark both days a quartz, she's fairly pounded now but I had a blast. A big thanks to the "big guy up in the sky" who spared the lives of those caught up in the slide on Saturday. As somebody posted above, I saw some very stupid riding from a distance. The turbo'd Yamaha rider that caused the avalanche that almost killed 3 people(highmarking a convex, unstable bowl with two other sleds stuck/stranded mid climb underneath you, what were you thinking ?)
Anyhow, lets play safe out there kiddies.

Did you remove those pics AdrenalineAddiction? Trying to keep it secret or what!? What's up..:beer;

When I posted the link to Photobucket, you could access all of my pics
You can see them on w'w'w'.'b'a'c'k'c'o'u'n't'r'y'r'e'b'e'ls'.'c'o'm, they are under pics and videos - AA's Pics 09/10

Cant post a link, SW has a filter for the site. They are insecure or something?

Not to be the devils advocate here but what were two other sleds doing highmarking below a convex for anyways?

Silent Pass

Went riding at Silent Pass on saturday. it was a rough ride in. It will be nice when the trail is groomed. We probed in one of the feilds and there was 5 feet of snow. It was snowing most of the day, it made it fairly hard to see. Should be good for next weekend if the snow keeps up.

Quartz Nov 28

Rode Quartz Saturday down in the valley it was HARD PACK but if you get away from where all the flat landers go it was really good up top with 1 1/2 feet of soft, Poostang again did not have atrack into it same as Area 51
Sunday was better vis and probably should have got travelled great mid season snow pack up top already...

no pics too busy riding

We rode Quartz on Sunday and it was sweet, the Grey cup kept everbody home or something, the area was like a ghost town and the snow was great. From the trees to the bowls, we tracked out as much as we could and did not even scratch the surface..
I LOVE SLEDDING

Rained to around 5500 ft. just below the cabin. Above that was wet, but didn't go above zero.
Rode again on Sunday with amazing conditions. Must have been really bad viz on Saturday, cause 51 was untracked. I had two clients out that day that definitely got their stoke on!
Just the three of us in 51 for hours. Now that is the way to spend a day!

Oh, and it snowed hard again today with a high pressure rolling in for the next four days plus..........

where is "51." im assuming its in quartz somewhere...

51 is the first bowl to right of prairie hills area if you are looking up at the zone from the cabin. You have to climb up the "poo stain" to get there.

There's been lots of people in Gorman and Lang lately. There is a ton of snow back there for this time of year, it's looking good, but be careful of the weak layers in the snowpack,

we were out at Chatter creek for a couple days. here's a couple clips
