Going to part out my 99 rmk, whats worth what

i'm going to be getting out of the snowmobiling world for a while. I want to part my sled out but i'm not sure whats worth what? Its a 99 RMK 700

Here are the big items that i'm not sure what kind of asking price i should list them for.

The motor is fresh, cylinders and pistons have less then 100 miles on them, literally two heat cycles and two rides. Cranks were inspected when the top end was rebuild and looked great.

Tison TMK(?) tunnel missing some rivets here and there, some loose rivets holding the LED tail light on, i would like to include the radiator with it, is that typical?

Twin pipes - Crank shop pipes and can, good shape, will be very nice once i hit them with some WD40 and scotchbite, would I want to include these with the sale of the motor?

Boss seat - nice, no tears or visible wear, great seat, these seam to hold there resale value?.

sno pro tank - with cap, worth?

Do people pay anything for hoods and body parts from a older sled like this? are they worth the headache of shipping?

What are the hardest items to sell?

Too bad you have to "get out of it" for a while :beer;

Sleds are unfortunatly worth more in parts then together and still running I've found. If you have the time and space you can sell every part on that thing from the speedo cable to the used track.. and probably make $3K+. Wait until mid way through the season when people start hitting trees, and blowing stuff up... things will fetch a better price.

I'm in the process of parting out a 95 Indy 2-up, great shape but wasn't worth $800 together and running, Between Craigs list and Ebay I've made $1,000 on it and still have 50% of it left.

It's amazing, it really adds up.

motorcycles are the same way. I figure I can get rid of the big items now while guys are getting ready for the season and clear out the rest once people start breaking oopps i mean needing stuff. :D

Whats a good asking price for the motor? I want to keep it as complete as possible, dont want to split up the bottom and top ends but will pull whatever else.

And that other 50% you'll still have in 3 years. Been there and doing that still.

I did it for about 6 years - it gets old and takes up a lot of room. I usually dumped off the 50% that wasn't worth much at a local swap meets - I didn't get as much as Ebay but after a while the space was worth more than the parts. I found that sticking to sleds 5 years old or less was the way to go.

I did the same thing to the same sled 3 yrs ago. I had some more mod stuff but my crank was bad. I made $ 4500.00 It was a huge pain in the a$$ though. I had 20 phone calls or e mails for everyone part I sold. The cream stuff will go quick, then start making package deals. I sold my motor, no ac stuff or carbs for $500.00 (it had struthers full port job) I threw in all the hoses and jugs for the guy. Good luck!
