Give me an idea about a m1000 vs 1100t

I have a full modes out m1k. Pipe porting and weight loss with a restack in the shocks. It runs awsome every time and it is in Excellant shape. But I am in the mood for a new one. I have rode several stock pc 800 and was disappointed with the power. I have not even seen an 1100t on the snow.
Out of the box how would one compare to my 09 m1k. And by the way not interested in turbo m8.
Thanks

To start you are only partially modded from what you label. Unlees you have a head, tortional clutching, geared down, aftermarket air-intake you're not quite 50% modded. when you have all this and can get that HP to the ground with a good track you might be making 180HP at 5000 ft of elevation. The 1100T is coming out of the crate at 177 HP and that is elevation HP no matter how high up you go. your 09 1000 weighs about 450 after the mods youve posted. that 1100T is 560. For handling the 09 being lighter is easier to handle. If you can afford it buy the 1100T and keep the 1000 for backup. wait a year, chip it to 220 HP put a can and track on it once you are comfortable riding that front heavy Fat Cat and you wont look back. Ive been riding in a group that has all of these sleds and its very interesting in different snow conditions. Lots of potential in that 1100T!!!

I bought my M1100T with the intention of selling it if I didn't like it. Well that never happened, never was a thought. From my first 10 miles I was hooked on this sled and chassis. It is so fun to ride and does everything the old M8 did. Goes everywhere my riding buddies go and more. I'm not a hill climber. I love to boondock and play in the trees. This sled does both just fine.

I've taken around 25 lbs off mine so far with muffler and battery. More lbs can come off with other stuff but for now I'm happy with it. Its now close to what a stock M1000 is weight wise. It does need new skis and I've done some clutching but the sled rocks stock.

IMO dont ride one unless your ready to buy one.:face-icon-small-hap

Agreed. I like mine(m1100t) alot. I have the 153. With the 153 it makes crazy track speed. I have a high flow muffler, lightweight battery (-25lb total) I am hoping to shave some more weight by next season. Also planning to go to a full highflow downpipe and muffler combo for the best flow.

That being said the sled is great stock. The 13 is going to be better with the vertical steering and 38 stance and 2.6 track. The vertical steering makes it a entirely different sled in my opinion and is needed.

Sounds like your a mods type guy so you will not likely leave it stock. $1 for $1 the m1100t will make more power.

By next seaon there are going to be alot more options to take this from 177 to over 250 real world hp. It is going to be a good time to own this sled.

Just a few basic numbers to compare, nothing scientific:

stock M1000

0 alt 162. 5000 alt 137, 10,000 alt 113.4

strongly modded 1000, let's say 200hp (notably more than OP's sled from mods listed)

0, alt 200, 5000 170, 10,000 140

MONSTER N/A 1000, 225 hp, a rare sled, but they are out there.

0 225, 5000 191.25, 10,000 157.5

m1100T 177, 177, 177 (in theory... some parasitic loss due to temp, etc is to be expected I'd assume)

So at 5000 VERY few M1000's would be stronger, and at 10,000... extremely unlikely that any N/A 1000 would be even close.

Oh yeah... at 0 alt m1100T... HEAVY AS HE!!, at 5000 feet HEAVY AS HE!!, at 10,000 HEAVY AS HE!!.

Get vertical steering, and spend a chunk of change taking weight off & you'd have a solid sled. I'm still not a fan, but I REALLY like lightweight sleds & I feel it's important in MY riding style.

I have them both.

M1100T is a monster...

Rode a PC800 and turned out before the top.
Pulled the same line on my M1000 and went further up then turned out.
Next weekend 3 more feet of snow and pulled the same line on my M1100T - Skis in the air the whole pull and blasted over the top, actually backed off of it.

This M1100T is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

I am 6'4 and 235 lbs - I don't feel the weight on the 1100T, seems the same as the M1000. When you're on the throttle with the new chassis, it seems lighter.

Power wise they will never be close, except maybe at sea level. At 10,000 no m1000 without boost will come close to a stock 1100t. The 1100t does weight a little more depending what year m1000 you have, but the PC chassis is much better. The 1100t is a huge step forward from the m1000.

If you have a properly modded m1000 you can have 200 hp at some altitude. You need to run the right head to keep your compression up. I would say my m1100 stock felt very similar to my fully modded m1000 at 6000 ft. But i think the m1100 would still beat it. The nice thing about the m1100 is the smooth power and smooth ride. Way less vibration than a two stroke. Also you can just add a high flow pipe and you will beat any modded sled without a turbo. It is easy to get these sleds up to 230 hp with good fuel, controller and some clutching. The m1100 is heavier which takes some getting used to. For me I would rather have the power instead of light weight. With my 1000 I was always watching egts and waiting for the next thing to break because I was pushing the limits of what the sled was built for. Now with the m1100 and extra boost it is apull and go sled. I would wait for the 2013 because the 38 skis and the vertical steering is a must. Also a better track is needed.

Thanks for the replies.
I do have a head and intake also. I run the stock secondary with MDS weights and cat red spring in the primary and love this setup. I pull about 62 MPH track speed on a 800 vertical foot powder climb. The other thing I mention is I am in Alaska so I ride from sea level to 5000 ft. all powder and mostly up hill. I would keep this sled even if I bought a new one. Money is not an issue but I dont just throw it away. I am just in the mood for a new one.

I went from a fully modded 07 M1000 to a stock 1100T. The power and torque is crazy different, but I ride around 10,000 feet. Over the summer I will take some weight off of her. Like mentioned above, on the 1000 I was constantly watching egt's and counting down the rides before she blew the top end or crank again. On the 1100T I add fuel and ride. The first time I felt that turbo spool up I knew I was in love.

I say stay light too, i like the 1100 turbo but be ready for a transition to the 4 stroker she finds the earth when you let off.... And its harder to get unstuck the one i rode the guy loves his but i can tell his riding style has changed a little (doesnt throw it around half as much)

The 1100 turbo stock doesnt pull a wheely like turbos you see everywhere or a two stroker will. Sorry rode it cambered my weight back and pinned it at the top of a hill and she bearly picked the skis up, it was going i was hauling ***, but not the wheely factor i was expecting from a turbo.

Now that was stock..... I know there capable of having a lot more power...

I your keeping the m1000 it would be cool to have both, throw some coin into that 1100 an see wht she can do! But stock im not impressed, here on ak at low altitute....

i rode a m1100t for a short bit on the same hills as my m1000... it definitely has power but you could tell the weight difference forsure when trying to lean it over in shallower snow... the m1000 was sooo much easier. i think i will stay with my vibing 1000 and try a 1200. adding more and more power as much as people dislike the diamond drive... i find its extremely durable over chains and will stick with it. cat still should have come out with a m1000 HO. that would have been a huge seller im sure. oh well. good luck with your m1100t purchase.

u didn't say but a couple of things come to mind....a heavier rider can handle a heavier sled more easily....what kind of riding do you like to do?...i've ridden the 1100 in trees and on side hills in utah and wyoming and idaho, really puts you in a tough spot sometimes, i live in fear of a stuck situation if i'm riding with a loose group of guys....the 1100 climbs great, i love the sound and smooth power, but i love tougher terrain more...and i can't ride it up to my expectations in the steep and deep, unless it's more open terrain....the 8s rarely have the power to satisfy, but an occassional one is ok for tight terrain....my mod 1000, very light, 190 hp, and i never worry about egts, haven't touched my fuel box in 3 years, and took the egt off...by light, i mean fully fueled, 524 pounds...a rmk pro on the same scale, fully fueled was six pounds more, but i have a dependable engine with 45 more hp...but i've been riding this sled for four years, i'm keeping it, but i want to snocheck a new one, the new xm is looking good...

I've had a M1000 and bought a 1100T this year, put highjacker, barker pipe and a camo track...hated it!!! Then I added the vert post and 38" a-arms('13 updates) and now I love it. It handles just as good if not better then my M1000 with way nicer ride on the trail. A friend said it best( he has nytro), turbo nyto is like a 4 stroke gas and the Cat is like a 4 stroke diesel.

I weight 215 with my gear on. I mostly ride in big bowls super deep powder and climb. Never cared much for jumping and there is not a lot of tree bashing arond here. It is not uncommon to climb 1500 vertical feet and drop into a glacier bowl on the back side. Like I said money is not an issue just dont want to regret it. I would still keep the 09 M1K as a backup.

I came off of a race gas turbo m 1000 and picked up the 1100 this year and I wouldn't go back the extra weight is well worth not having to monitor a bunch of gauges.. Even at 177 HP my 1100 will run side by side with a race gas m 8 that's until we hit the hill :)

Still have my modded M1000 as well and the only area that sled was better than my M1100T (HiJacker/DD can) was sidehilling. I don't do much trail riding, my group loves trees and climbing. I was on the m1000 for 5 years and it feels very different. There is a lot to be said for learning to ride a four stroke. Hard to break the two storke throttle habbit of being full or no throttle in the tree's. With the four stroke its about feathering the throttle. I say this to the guys I ride with, stuff (trees) comes at me a lot faster with this sled. Love the sled.
