Get out of the way guys!!

I'm with John on this. It's obvious that Mr. Timberslug has attained a level of ability that few of us can ever hope to reach. That statement is proven by the fact that he only joins to post in one thread to give us a warning to stay out of his way. It's up to us to heed the warning. NUFF SAID?!!

What is that way down below me in the pic - hard to see - right there stuffed into the hillside… Oh yeah, one sled rolling like a turtle with his buddy sled rolled onto its side in an attempt to help. We could only look on from above in amusement, then off we went.

Good thing those snow bikes are so good so you can get back to help those guys after the cornice you are on above them gives way and buries those two idiots...

It's good that timberslug is such an amazing rider. I get really sick of always digging my buddies out when they get stuck on a steep sidehill that no other sleds can park on to help. I get sick of being the snowmobile hillside rescue.

Hey as an old moto guy, I really like this concept, I just got burned in '05 when I thought my moto skills would transfer to the snowturkey, and was unpleasantly surprised at how big a POS that actually was and how like a motorcycle it wasn't. Owned it for a total of 3 days. I sucked it up and made myself more proficient on a sled and the rest is history. I wouldn't be opposed to slapping one of those conversions on my CRF, but for the price, I just keep snow checking a new POO! To each their own fun and more power (literally) to you bike guys for doing so!

2005? The Mountain Horse didn't exist then so you rode an Explorer or a 2moto kit. Those things are piles of sh!t.

Sorry, for clarification snowturkey= Ad Boivin Snowhawk. Those really were junk.

Ya, our machines actually carve turns, especially going downhill.
When was the last time you saw someone getting it on a three wheeler in the woods.....? Snowmobiles are basically three wheelers compared to a MH. Just like Skis were to snowboards before they actually put a sidecut in them to make them carve a turn.
Sometimes less is actually more.

check the snowhawk section of this place, J&L still believes! he's been doing some nice work lately to keep the hawk alive! The best day I owned my hawk was the day I sold it back to him, lol! Mine was the orange 503 which he installed a timbersled skid into and long a$$ track!

Hey timber slug fans, just a friendly note, please stay out of our way when were on the mountain,

"When were on the mountain"
Seriously!
WE'RE We are, it's conjunction. Some of us learned that at school which we actually attended.

OHHHH..come on guys, just a little rubbin tiz all, they both have ups and downs and advantages and disadvantages. But.......in saying that....ummmm.....this pic doesn't really do you TS guys any favors......what most people see in this pic is 2 TS's on the flat trail up to the alpine and a sled attempting to go vert.. albeit an epic fail (we all been there, done that though right guys)......the sled guys probably told their girlfriends to follow you guys up the trail to the cabin and will meet you there, were playin in the cut lines....thanks for stopping to help him out though guys.........just sayin! lol

The truth is the guys on the snow bike were probably new at the sport. Snow biking is not about competition with sleds its a different sport.most of us were snowmobilers once we chose a new and not so straight sport. :face-icon-small-win.

What do you mean by that? Don't go giving Slug ideas.. :noidea:

I dont think any of us need to worry about that kid or any other ones like him, he will never even get to see the places most of ride, let alone see us riding there. The only time I'll ever see him is if i'm feeling gracious enough to show up and dig his lame *** out of a tree well...

Timberslug you are a idiot. I was passing snowmobiles the other weekend. You need to ride one of there's machines and you will sell that summit in a heart beat. and they are sitting on a ridge that is harder then hell to get on top of. Sled destroying hill.

Seems we are having different experiences on the hills here guys. We hit straight up the danger basin death hill, (last 50 meters is pretty much vert), in 3 hits of the throttle while you TS boys are side hilling back in forth in first gear, creeping your way up because in 2nd gear that poor thumper will stall. Were watching these poor saps from the summit while pouring in coolant (in that I mean beer) looking at each other and asking ourselves what in the world do you guys see in this stupid concept. putting track kits on motocross bikes is like........friggin......putting a sail and rudder on a top fuel drag car for crying out loud! It just don't belong guys. I don't know, but its like you guys are trying your best to justify your extremely expensive investment.:face-icon-small-con

Lol. I didnt see u in Revy last couple days. Too bad. I had my Doo lol. I would of showed u how to ride yours. Of course thats after i won my free dinner and beer on my bike !

The bikes may not climb like a 160hp sled. Bikes are 60hp and they will make you look stupid in the trees !

I keep hearing that mantra but I am another sledder that hasn't seen it yet. You might need more than 60hp to keep up in the trees... just sayin.

I suspect the bike changes where and how your ride. Just like they is no point in me riding a Pro with a bunch of Yammi turbo guys. They want to do the things big power sleds do best, go fast and go straight up. With my newer lightweight sled, we ride different places than we used to. I suspect the bike is a similar change.

There is NO WAY your non turbo bike is keeping up through the trees if I get to pick the route on my sled. Probably no way I am keeping up on the sled if you pick the route with the bike.

I also am not so sure I like the lack of talent to get the bike around compared to the sled. I was a skier when snowboards came out. We had experts on boards in less than a season. that doesn't happen on ski's. I hear lots of testimony as to how anybody can do it, yet sleds are a much bigger challenge for them. how is the "easy way" possibly the more rewarding?

Different strokes for different folks
