Gates 44C4553

I have had these belts on two of three of our 11-15- Pro 800s and they have done a great job and I finally wore one of the gates belts out on my 11 Pro last week and it was starting to come apart after about 1100 miles so I put a new one on in the back country and the machine came back to life 8300 rpm in the powder and all is well. My boys and myself ride hard and are not easy on all parts of the clutching system but we do take care to look at things on a regular basis and in this case one of my boys heard sone noise that I was not hearing (belt starting to have cord come loose on the side.

In addition, I had to adjust the belt deflection after we got to the trailer later in the day as it was a little to tight, but we were able to ride the rest of the day (3 more hours or so) before I made the deflection adjustment.

Good info.

Ran this belt on my 600 today ran the same as the stock 115 belt just had to set the belt deflection.

Good info guys, thanks for the feedback! That's what I was looking for before spending my cash on something other than the '115. I will order a couple of them and give it a try.

There's also the Dayco XTX5020 belt that can be had for under $100. I've been running them since 2013 with zero issues. I actually think they perform a bit better than the 11115 Polaris belt. They also come apart gradually, compared to the Poo belt exploding. That's my experience, anyway.

I have 2 Gates 44C4553 still new. I upgraded to the newer sleeve angles and running the AXYS Gates 45C4553 instead. PM me if you want them, thanks!

What's a new sleeve angle. I just have my primary done at Indy specialty. I assume the 44c4553 is still correct belt.

If he trued / corrected / matched the sheaves (which I'm certain he did) you'll want to run the 45C4553 also or get the stock AXYS RMK belt. Otherwise its only gonna grab half of the belt.

It's a 2011 pro. I think he makes sheave angle for OEM 321115 belt right. He told me 321115 belt would be good when I had it done this fall or do I need to confirm that with him.

If that's what he (INDY DAN) told you I have no reason to say different. I won't put words in his mouth.

I will say I've been led to believe the the AXYS sheave angle change was due to his (INDY DAN's) R&D and the success with his setups.

Napa carries the Gates belts

I just ordered a belt from Napa. My price was $120, counter guy said they run $180 in the store. Unless you have an account.

Still have 2 new in sleeve, good price too!

If someone wanted both of them I'd be willing to beat the $120 Each NAPA account price, shipped USPS Priority Flat Rate. If you only want one; I can still beat the Napa Account prices, even with USPS Priority Flat Rate Postage for the Large box at ~$20. Just not by as much.

PM me if you want them, thanks!

I actually got the belt for $101. Blew the belt already with about 100 miles on it. Started to peel apart from the top of the belt. We were riding in wet heavy snow. Did smell a little rubber but no flat spots on the belt. Any suggestion.

Sounds wrong... year warranty so I would warranty it and try again. You might have a clutching / alignment issue? I picked one of these belts up and washed it up but have not tried it yet, waiting for a break-in ride, maybe Friday... or maybe put it on when coming back to the truck...

I've been using Carlise belts and no problems. Try this one and it's seemed to grab real good but in the wet heavy snow by the end of the day the top of the belt started to peel away. Napa is warranting it don't know if the the shelves match the angle is wrong for this belt. I had Indy dan balance and match the belt angle to the clutches

I love the gates beldt.I didn't really see any increase in rooms. It grips good. I wash mine in hot soapy water first to get the residue off so you you have no slippage issues.

because of reading this thread awhile back I ordered 2 belt for my 14 Pro Rmk primary sled now from Oreillys which is right next door to the Transmission Shop I work for I'm the head builder, I paid $106 per belt and have been running it all season on the same belt other is in the spare position and have a 3rd cheaper one in my tunnel bag, Been riding with this new sled more in the Blues where it is warmer and the trails are longer and way faster than other areas we usually ride so few years ago I blew 2 almost new Skidoo belts on my Rev and they popped good too.

So had been curious how these belt would hold up over a manufacturer belt on the Pro, we have rode there a couple time now and this Sled has a lot more power than the Ole Rev and I am riding it much harder on the trails and play spots knowing I'm really using this belt and getting it warm and its held up fine so far, hold 8250rpm pretty much all day in all different snow conditions.

Will see tomorrow cause its probably gonna be a warm day ,I'm happy with this belt so far I can pretty much buy 2 for the price of the 1115 belt
