Is there anyplace or body that can rebuild a turbo? Meaning like bearings and seals? Or do you contact the factory directly?

I did a core exchange (damaged compressor blades) with garrett through boondocker 2 summers ago & thought it was pretty reasonable. The remanufactured one came back indexed correctly & ready to go.

BD turbo exchange

Old post of mine from summer 2009 when I did the exchange:

If the bearing is good & one "wheel" (compressor or turbine) is good, mine was $525 exchange with garrett through BD. I think it was $875 (or so) if you don't meet those requirements. This assumes the housings were not contacted by either "wheel"... if they were... (gulp)... $1600. If it's a Boondocker (& you go through them or your dealer) it will come back to you already indexed & ready to bolt back on in about 4 weeks.

prices are same or slightly better on std garrett.. much better on the precision and forced performance billet compressor wheel turbos. Ill help you 2 norwegians !!!

Welp, tore into the sled today.

Looks like my turbo might be hosed, idk. Apparently I have quite a bit of blow-back in the IC, etc.

Does Boondocker do turbo rebuilds?

I'd just assume send the whole turbo frame back to them and have them go through it since it looks like the stem from the center section of the turbo to the oil reservoir is bent
