full throttle in reverse

i was climbing this hill near cle ellum WA and got a little off canter on the hill. stopped, backed up a little , realized i needed to do a full throttle takeoff. funny thing is .... never put it back into forward. went 25 ft backwards in full throttle (becuase i also fell on it) into a tree well. luckily i only knocked the wind out of myself and my buddies got a kick out of it.
please tell my im not the only one thats done this lol:beer;

Maybe only 2 of us. I had to disconnect that annoying reverse alarm on my Apex in 06. Almost peaked a hill in early conditions and ended up on a rock, my 2 boys come to pull on the skis and I forget I had backed up a foot or so. I do the countdown 1,2,3, and I pin it in reverse. Me and sled head on down. Sky, snow, sky, snow, you know the drill. When it comes to a stop, Apex is on me on the hill and I can't move.

Now I just yell beeeep beeep to myself. Glad you stepped up first. I know there is more. Lets hear it. EW

did it in valemount a few years ago on my 900rmk, backed up beside my buddies to talk for a second then i actually said "hey guys watch this" and instead of leaping over the drift in front of me i shot backwards face against the headlight feet in the air with a 20 foot roostertail infront of me into a creek. its amazing how hard it is to let go of that throttle when your going 60 in reverse :face-icon-small-ton

I used to laugh at the doo's and goofy beep beep beep when I first got my esacpe new in 02. After countless trips over the bars through the windshield and rolling off the hood, I think I could live with a goofy beep as a reminder to the driver, not the bystanders!!!

seen an M8 do it just a week ago trying to load up. Funny thing about mechanical reverse is it stays in reverse even if you shut the sled off and start it up again.

Nice one. I'm glad I've never done that.;)

I left the beeper alone on my sled just cause of stories like these...hahah keep it up!

My coolest backup stunt happend last year, (unfamiliar terrain) The guys all went shooting up a steep hill and dissappeared below a cornice. The snow was hard pack hero junk where you can't slow down. I went shooting up to the right of them and when I went above them I was able to see there was a small bowl they'd all parked in...I went on up above them to the cornice and turned out to head downhill to where they were. I wasn't able to slow down AT ALL!

They were all scrambling to start their sleds and get out the way because it was obvious I was gonna shoot right out the bowl and launch myself into nothingness below, then they heard my beeper BEEP BEEP BEEP as I was coming down the hill

I locked the track and hit the reverse button, waited until engagement then slammed on the throttle

80 MPH in reverse throws one helluva roost in front the sled! The azz end of my sled was buried deep

6 guys in unison "FUGG THAT WAS COOL"!!

I had a hard time not letting my grin be too obvious, but I almost chat myself lol.

made me proud :D

Did it a couple weeks ago towing out a buddy with a snow bungie, luckily I got stuck before I could hit his sled. Funny as sheet now that I look back on it.

I was the first in my little group I ride with to get E-reverse.....One day, I asked a friend if he wanted to "try out" my 800.....I started it and put it in reverse w/o telling him......I had parked so it would back up and not hit anything....

Well, I was expecting him to sit on the seat and take off gradually. BUT, he's on one knee and nailed the throttle.....Now, his face is on the hood and he's trying to hold on.....Was exciting for all of us.......

First time riding my '08 700RMK, tried out reverse while standing up and misjudged the power of the engine....

About 10 years ago I put my buddies sled into reverse (Mechanical reverse) outside Strozzis bar in West Yellowstone after a night of drinking. He came out and proceeded to flip off the front of his sled.

Man he was mad!

I still laugh about that one.......

Last year we were doing a small 10 foot drop off a narrow ridge. I thought it would be cool to back to the other edge and get a little more distance off the drop. Backed up, adjusted the goggles, punched it and went backwards off the wrong side. Fortunately it was only about 5 feet down on that side but the sled ended sticking straight up on its tail and I endedup with a fat lip from the bars.
Where's the video camera when you need it?
