Fried Dobeck box. Buy new one or switch to PC V, BD, or ???

I was planning on updating this thread, but hadn't been on SnoWest for a while. Thanks to Shover for testing and fixing my box. I stopped in and he tested it while I waited. He offered to replace the board while I waited as well, but I didn't have the time to spare. I stopped late in the afternoon and he had it done by the next morning. He ended up putting the standard Twisted M1000 program in my box.

Unfortunately the Twisted M1000 program doesn't work very well on a Push M1000. I have a pretty severe bog when coming on boost. Seems to be right when the secondaries turn on. I don't know if it is the different charge tube and air box design or the location of the secondaries that are causing the Twisted program not to work on my sled. My buddy that has a lot of Dobeck tuning experience and I have a couple of ideas to try. I am going to take it over and have it reprogrammed one more time. After that, PC V or BD here I come.

I had this very same issue - dobek box on my M8 push race gas set up shat the bed. After long consideration of the pros/cons of each option, I chose to go with the boondocker box. It was super easy to install, and let me share the results.

Boondocker's base map was pretty close. I spent another 45 minutes or so getting it dialed in (made only 2 pts adjustment on both mid/high rpn on both the low PSI and the high PSI. The results - the sled ran the best it ever has... for 7 consecutive days of riding. Not one touch of the box after it was dialed. No hot spots, no burbles, no nothing.. It ran as consistent as a stocker and had the power like a turbo.

I am super happy with the decision to go with Boondocker's box. And all the stuff people have said about Boondocker's customer service, and Kevin at Hubbs Performance Shop (formally Mtn Magic Sports) is true - they are great people to work with/talk to, and have as resources.

Good info.

Which BD box did you go with? The newest with 13 rpm ranges and EBC built in or an older model? ADA or no?

Are you running the standard Push airbox and charge tube with two secondaries in it?
